Job description

About Zipline

Zipline is the world's largest and most experienced drone delivery service. We are on a mission to serve all humans equally by ensuring access to food, medicine and essential goods anytime, anywhere. We design, build, and operate the world's largest autonomous logistics system, delivering critical supplies quickly and reliably. Today, Zipline operates on four continents, makes a delivery somewhere in the world every 30 seconds, and has completed millions of deliveries to date, including blood, vaccines, medical supplies, food, and retail products.

Our customers include the world's largest and most prominent healthcare systems, governments, retailers, restaurants and global businesses who rely on us to save lives, reduce emissions, increase economic opportunity, and provide delivery from point A to point B as fast as possible. The drone is only 15% of what we've built to enable seamless, reliable, global operations.

Our system strengthens supply chains, reduces congestion, and gives people time back. With more than 140 million commercial autonomous miles safely flown, Zipline is redefining access to healthcare, consumer products, and food across the globe.

We operate at a global scale and are looking for practical problem solvers who thrive on real-world challenges and rapid growth. Our team is motivated by building systems that have a direct, meaningful impact on people's lives and by scaling the future of logistics. We are seeking people who sculpt from first principles, enjoy facing adversity, and can do the impossible at record breaking speeds.

About You and The Role

Zipline's communications team shapes and shares the company's story and impact. We develop and implement strategies and tactics to educate our target audiences about Zipline, tell stories that raise awareness about what we're doing and the impact that we're having, increase acceptance of and excitement for our system, and cultivate ambassadors. We are passionate storytellers and make complex topics simple and understandable.
Zipline is expanding in the U.S. and will be delivering food, medicine, retail items and more directly to people's homes in many states over the next few years. We are seeking a Senior Video Editor to turn footage, interviews, sound, graphics, product imagery, and other source material into clear and engaging stories.
You will edit social and brand video, product launches, technical explainers, customer stories, interviews, events, recruiting content, and internal communications. You will work closely with a Video Producer, Cinematographer, and Motion Designer, as well as Communications, Brand, Social, Marketing, engineers, and operators. This is a hands-on post-production role centered on story construction, pacing, dialogue, music, sound, routine color and finishing, versioning, quality control, and organized delivery.

What You'll Do

• Edit short- and medium-form video for social, web, events, presentations, internal channels, and other communications needs.
• Review briefs, scripts, transcripts, footage, product assets, screen recordings, archival material, and other sources to build clear editorial structures.
• Create selects, string-outs, assemblies, rough cuts, fine cuts, and final masters with close attention to story, pacing, performance, tone, continuity, and visual rhythm.
• Find concise and emotionally credible stories in interviews, observational footage, product demonstrations, customer experiences, events, and operational capture.
• Partner with the Video Producer to confirm audience, deliverables, schedules, review rounds, feedback routing, and delivery requirements.
• Collaborate with the Cinematographer on footage assessment, coverage, continuity, exposure, color intent, and any pickup needs.
• Collaborate with the Motion Designer on animation briefs, timing, placeholders, turnovers, renders, revisions, and integration of final motion assets.
• Edit and clean dialogue, select and place music, build sound design, balance mixes, and prepare audio for final delivery or external mixing.
• Complete color correction and routine grades for in-house projects, and prepare organized turnovers, conforms, and reference files when external color or finishing is used.
• Create and manage versions across durations, aspect ratios, placements, captions, languages, calls to action, and platform specifications.
• Incorporate consolidated feedback, maintain clear version history, and preserve continuity across review rounds and deliverable variants.
• Perform technical quality control across picture, sound, captions, graphics, color, frame rates, codecs, aspect ratios, naming, and destination requirements.
• Maintain organized media, proxies, project files, graphics, music, licenses, captions, review links, masters, and archives so work remains searchable and reusable.
• Contribute to practical editing templates, project structures, export presets, naming conventions, review practices, and archive workflows that improve consistency and turnaround.

What You'll Bring

• 7+ years of professional video-editing and post-production experience in an in-house creative team, agency, studio, production company, media organization, or similarly demanding environment.
• A strong reel and portfolio demonstrating editorial judgment, pacing, emotional range, and work across multiple formats, with your role identified for each project.
• Expert proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro or another professional nonlinear editing system.
• Strong working knowledge of DaVinci Resolve, Adobe Audition or comparable audio tools, and post-production workflows from ingest through final delivery.
• Demonstrated experience editing interviews, documentary or observational footage, product stories, technical explainers, social content, and brand communications.
• Strong instincts for story structure, performance, pacing, music, sound, visual rhythm, and audience attention.
• Professional experience with dialogue editing, sound design, music editing, audio cleanup and balancing, color correction, conform, captions, and finishing.
• Working knowledge of motion-graphics and visual-effects pipelines sufficient to brief, turn over, integrate, version, and quality-check work from a Motion Designer or external partner.
• Strong technical knowledge of codecs, containers, frame rates, resolutions, aspect ratios, color spaces, audio specifications, captions, and platform delivery requirements.
• Excellent organization across media ingest, proxies, transcripts, project files, feedback, versions, masters, and archives.
• Ability to manage multiple edits and review cycles while maintaining accuracy, responsiveness, and attention to detail.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills, including the ability to explain editorial choices, incorporate feedback, and work effectively with creative and technical partners.
• Ability to learn complex subject matter and preserve technical accuracy while making information accessible to a broad audience.
• Experience editing work about robotics, autonomy, aviation, logistics, hardware, infrastructure, healthcare, or another technically complex field is a plus.
• Experience with multicamera editing, remote or field editing, localization, archival workflows, or external finishing vendors is a plus.
• Familiarity with transcription, cleanup, search, versioning, and other AI-assisted post-production tools is a plus.

You'll Thrive in the Role If:

• You enjoy finding the clearest and most human version of a story in complex source material.
• You can move between fast social edits and more considered narrative work while maintaining craft.
• You use pacing, performance, sound, and image selection to make technical subjects understandable.
• You respond constructively to feedback and keep review rounds and versions organized.
• You collaborate well with producers, cinematographers, motion designers, and technical subject-matter experts.
• You care about project hygiene, technical accuracy, quality control, and reliable delivery.
• You are passionate about Zipline's mission, impact, and products.
