Responsibilities

How you’ll make an impact in this role 

  • Controls, starts, and shuts down primary and auxiliary power plant equipment—including boilers, turbines, generators, pumps, and compressors—using control boards and sequential switches. 
  • Monitors meters, gauges, and computer systems at established intervals to regulate power flow, adjust water levels, and detect potential operating problems. 
  • Performs preventative maintenance and minor repairs, such as cleaning, lubricating equipment, and tightening leaking joints, to prevent system failure or deterioration. 
  • Documents plant operations by maintaining accurate logs, completing forms, writing equipment malfunction reports, and handling emergency outage communication. 
  • Leads team operations by assigning daily work to maximize plant efficiency, assisting with shift scheduling, and training team members on equipment monitoring and maintenance. 
  • Serves as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) on cross-functional teams, participates in informational meetings and workshops, and assists with special projects as assigned.

  • High School Diploma or equivalent 
  • Relevant license  
  • Graduate of trade school 

And one or more of the following: 

  • 5 years of relevant experience. 
  • Other equivalent combination of relevant education or experience
