Job description

Sony Interactive Entertainment has an extraordinary opportunity in the Tools, Framework and Infrastructure team! We are looking for a motivated and creative individual to help build test tools, frameworks, and infrastructure, focused on delivering high quality system software which drives the PlayStation experience.

 As a Software Engineer, you'll focus on building test frameworks and infrastructure, internal tools, and automating test workflows. You will collaborate closely with Quality Engineering and Software Engineering teams to build robust systems to ensure console software delivered to customers and game studios are of the highest quality.

Responsibilities
  • Design, build, and maintain test frameworks, tooling and infrastructure for teams which develop and test software for the Playstation console.

  • Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, GitHub Actions or similar tools.

  • Collaborate with Quality and Development teams in the construction of creative test strategies for console system software.

  • Develop telemetry systems and dashboard in order to make data-driven decisions about technical feature development.

Required Qualifications
  • Master's degree in Computer science, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent 

  • 8+ years experience in designing, developing and maintaining tools and applications in C++, Python, or Javascript with a focus on building testing tools, and test frameworks at scale. (C++ and Python experience preferred)

  • Experience with test automation frameworks

  • Hands-on experience with CI/CD systems like Jenkins, GitHub Actions or similar tools.

  • Comfortable working in Linux and Windows-based development environments.

  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work cross-functionally with engineering and QA teams.

  • Strong debugging skills.

Nice-to-Have Skills
  • Experience with test/build automation on PCs, consoles or other embedded systems.

  • Contributions to and familiarity with software testing systems (and general software testing experience)

  • LLVM or LLVM-based C/C++ compilers

  • Experience with developing or testing SDK libraries.

  • Working knowledge of Docker-based test environments.

  • Machine Learning experience

  • Game industry background

  • Japanese Language familiarity a plus
