Title: Athletics Temporary Game Day

Summary: The Athletics Temporary Game Day will work with our Athletics Event Management and Communications units to cover the duties at the table during home game competitions and special events. They will help to cover all aspects of in-game operations and communications. Duties may be wide-ranging but will likely be focused on assisting in game day operations.

Minimum Qualifications: High School Diploma or GED. One (1) year experience in athletics.

Essential Functions:

  1. Managing game day functions during game days such as: scorekeeping, game statistics, shot clock, video board, and running game sheets to respective members of staff and officials. Different duties may include:
    • DVSport Tech: set-up, utilize, and tear down DVSport system, Utilize DVSport System to monitor official replays, attend officials meeting to learn game details, train sideline techs on their role.
    • Scoreboard Operator: inspect all the sporting equipment, inspect the details of the participants, etc. to ensure the compliance of the standards of the game patterns, coordinate with various officials, coaches, players, and the facility to gather appropriate information, post the indicators to record the progress of the game on the scoreboard at every given point of time, keep a track of the various event times and verify/convey them as and when required in the game.
    • Statistician: Responsible for recording and inputting statistics during live play of sporting events; prints hard copies of statistics throughout the course of each break for distribution to coaches and members of media and others.
    • PA Announcer: Announce players, coaches, institutional personnel, officials, and programs during the event, instruct and calm crowds during emergencies, and read prepared scripts during events.
  2. Will use effective communication skills both writing and speaking, strong people skills, and work in a high energy and fast paced environment.
  3. Perform other duties as assigned.
