Conscious Minds is an independent creative agency that helps brands establish a more human connection between brands and their audiences. We have offices in Pasadena, CA, and Portland, OR, and offer a remote-first work environment to our employees. We are looking for a full-time Associate Creative Director, Copy.


About the Role

Weโ€™re seeking a versatile and dynamic creative leader with a passion for culture and storytelling to join our team at Conscious Minds. The best ACD Copywriter for this role lives and breathes social, is highly conceptual and unafraid to be hands-on with the work. This specific role is perfect for someone who loves fashion, has strong opinions about their skincare routine, brings their sense of humor to everything they make and has a favorite Bravo meme account or could make @throwingfits' next post. The ACD will lead campaigns and content development that challenge traditional advertising constraints, partnering with clients and cross-functional teams to deliver impactful, world-changing creative solutions. The ideal candidate will excel at building client relationships, inspiring teams, collaborating with internal and external team members, and mentoring talent.


Location: LA or NYC

Office Hours: Our team operates on Pacific Time. We ask that you be available during core business hours of [9AM โ€“ 6PM] PT to support collaboration.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Creative Leadership

  • Lead clients in evolving their creative strategies and approaches.
  • Direct the development of high-level visual and story-driven craft in all creative outputs.
  • Spearhead ideation and execution based on social and behavioral trends.
  • Motivate creative teams and serve as creative lead across tone of voice, copywriting, content creation, and as ACD be able to direct art and design when needed.
  • Develop and deliver thought leadership and creative solutions that strengthen clients' visual market distinction and leadership position.


Creative Development

  • Concept and execute integrated creative across mediums, including social media, digital, OOH, stunt campaigns and activations, branding, photography, and product launches.
  • Collaborate with internal and external team members to craft culturally relevant ideas and brand communications.
  • Develop and guide creative for key clients, with a focus on creating emotionally resonant and insight-driven ideas.


Client & Team Engagement

  • Strengthen and own client relationships, acting as a trusted partner.
  • Present ideas and creative work with charm and compelling storytelling to clients and internal stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with internal cross-functional teams (strategy, production, and client services) and external teams (client teams and/or inter-agency teams) to ensure creative excellence as both a lead and a contributor.


Mentorship & Management

  • Manage and support high-performing creative teams.
  • Direct and mentor team members, fostering a culture of innovation and accountability.
  • Inspire, influence, and motivate others to deliver exceptional work.


Execution & Collaboration

  • Be hands-on as needed in proactive work, new business pitches, production, and post-production processes.
  • Collaborate across subject areas to integrate strategies and messaging for diverse channels.
  • Ensure Quality Control across creative projects.


What Weโ€™re Looking For

Experience & Expertise

  • 5-7 years of experience in creative industries, with a strong preference for agency experience.
  • A history of concepting and creating serialized social content across multiple platforms.
  • Experience running AlwaysOn content for day-to-day client needs.
  • Proven ability to develop high-level creative strategies and adapt to shifting goals.
  • Experience in on-set production, post-production, working with creators, and hybrid creative skills (art direction and writing).

  • Mastery of written communication from scripts to headlines and taglines, to highly-engaging post copy and deck narratives
  • Expert-level presentation skills in person and in deck formats (Keynote, Google Slides, and PowerPoint).
  • Proficiency in AI-assisted workflowsโ€”including creative prompt engineering on emerging platforms like (Gemini, Midjourney, ChatGPT, Claude, Adobe Firefly, Sora, etc.)
  • Proficiency in CapCut, Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, After Effects, Premiere Pro).

The anticipated annual compensation range for this position is $120,000 - $150,000 + our standard employee benefits package (medical/dental/vision/life insurance, 401k matching, Flexible PTO, and various other benefits and perks). Consistent with applicable law, compensation is determined based on a wide range of factors, including relevant experience, knowledge, skills, job duties, and geographic location. We reserve the right to modify this pay range at any time.
