The ideal candidate will provide technical engineering support for our large federal government agency's highly complex network infrastructure environment to include multiple enclaves comprising various classification levels.
Responsibilities:
The Wireless Engineer will be responsible for planning, designing, develop, install, modify, and test networks, application programs and/or computer based systems. Translate systems/subsystems designs and detailed designs into fully functioning and architecturally compliant networks, applications, or computer-based systems. This position requires knowledge of servers, workstations, and other programmable systems such as controllers and handheld devices. The Wireless Engineer will provide advice on differing networking implementations and designs. Provide problem resolution, compliance testing and design recommendations.
They must have hands-on experience with inter networking equipment to include configuration, installation and/or troubleshooting. The engineer will work with senior technical and user staff in a support role on their projects.
Qualifications:
  • Active Top-Secret Clearance with the ability to obtain an SCI.
  • Bachelor's degree in relevant field or 4+ years of experience in lieu of degree
  • 3+ years of experience designing, developing, and implementing wireless solutions.
  • Experience with various WLAN topologies, including indoor, outdoor, high-density, campus, mesh, remote, and industrial.
  • Experience with WLAN survey tools to perform Active, Passive, and AP on a Stick surveys.
  • Experience with Spectrum Analyzer tools
  • Experience with AAA and identity-based access solutions for WLAN deployments
  • Experience with wireless intrusion detection and prevention systems, including WIDS and WIPS
  • Understanding of Cisco switching and ability to troubleshoot basic AP connectivity issues.
  • Ability to troubleshoot wireless client devices Ability to perform monitoring of various WLAN technologies and topologies.
  • Ability to be a self-starter and work independently, with good communication (written and oral) and coordination skills.

Preferred Skills and Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in relevant field
  • Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) or higher
  • Experience working on an Enterprise Network
