Position Overview:

Area of study: Hospitality Management, Nonprofit Management, Event Management

Overall Responsibilities:

The North America Education Intern will have the opportunity to support the North America Education Team during the preparation for IAAPA Expo, the attractions industry’s premier event. This internship provides the opportunity to connect with volunteer committee members and speakers of IAAPA Expo by being involved in the speaker management process. The Education Intern will assist speakers with building their profiles and the collection, organization, and internal review of presentations and speaker agreements. The Education Intern will provide support at IAAPA Expo 2026, taking place at the Orange County Convention Center, Nov.16-20th. 

The Education intern will work 20 to 32 hours a week. The internship will take place in person at the IAAPA HQ in Orlando, Florida, and reports to the Senior Manager, Education and Program Management. This is not a remote work position. Housing and travel are not provided. 

Learning Outcomes:

  • Knowledge of how an association functions and experience working with conference management and registration systems. 
  • Exposure to the full breadth of the global attractions’ industry: Amusement Parks, Family Entertainment Centers, Manufacturers & Suppliers, Museums and Science Centers, Natural and Adventure Attractions, Water Parks and Zoos & Aquariums. 
  • Understanding of the support structure required for a trade show and experience supporting IAAPA Expo both at the event and leading up to the event.  

Specific Duties:

  • Manage speaker agreement form completions and collections.
  • Collects, organizes and reviews IAAPA Expo presentations.
  • Update session and speaker information within conference management platforms.
  • At IAAPA Expo, provide support to IAAPA Expo attendees at education programs and guest service in the Speaker Lounge.
  • Assist with other IAAPA Expo related planning and activities as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Enrolled as a college/university student through the end of December 2026
  • Effective communicator of the written and spoken word
  • Excellent computer skills
  • Excellent guest service skills
  • Proficiency in working with Microsoft Office
  • Experience working in an office environment is preferred.

ADA Specifications:

  • This position is primarily sedentary in the Orlando, FL Headquarters office and may require some bending and lifting.
