Job description

Banquet Cook
Principle Responsibilities & Position Purpose:
To produce all hot and cold food items for service in the banquet and catering functions, ensuring that all are prepared according to Flik standards and specifications.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  1. Prepare food of consistent quality in a fast and efficient manner for banquet and catering events.
  2. Date all food containers and rotate per Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).
  3. Practice safety standards at all times.
  4. Cook orders as requested by the Chef, dictated by the Banquet Event Orders, including special requests.
  5. Start food items that are prepared ahead of time, making sure to follow recipes and prepare appropriate amounts.
  6. Practice sanitation standards at all times. (Make sure that all perishables are being kept at the proper temperatures, Proper sanitation equipment is on station, Proper cutting boards being used, etc.)
  7. Properly portion and organize all items on assigned mise en place carts, designated by Banquet Culinary Management .
  8. Control food waste, loss and usage per SOP. Assist in setting up plans and actions to correct any food cost problems.
  9. Alert Banquet Culinary Management for any product concerns regarding quality and quantity, as well as any shortages.
  10. Assist in prep work of mise en place as required for the next shift.
  11. Return all food items not used on next shift to designated storage areas, being sure to cover/date all perishables.
  12. Each associate is expected to carry out, within their capabilities, all reasonable requests by management.
    SUPPORTIVE FUNCTIONS
    In addition to performance of the essential functions, this position may be required to perform a combination of the following supportive functions, with the percentage of time performing each function to be solely determined by management based upon the particular requirements of the company.
