At Mission Point Resort, our Conference & Events team brings meetings, weddings, and special events to life in one of the most unique destinations in the country. We are seeking a highly organized, guest-focused Conference Services Manager to lead the planning and execution of group events, ensuring every detail is flawlessly coordinated from contract handoff to final farewell.


About the Role

The Conference Services Manager serves as the primary liaison for group clients once events are booked, overseeing all logistical, operational, and service-related details. This role works closely with Sales, Food & Beverage, Banquets, AV, Front Desk, and Resort Operations to deliver seamless, high-quality events that exceed client expectations.

Youโ€™ll thrive in this role if you are detail-oriented, proactive, calm under pressure, and passionate about creating exceptional group and event experiences in a fast-paced resort environment.


What Weโ€™re Looking For

โ€ข Experience:
Previous experience in conference services, event management, hotel operations, or resort group coordination preferred. Experience managing multiple events simultaneously and working with banquet and AV teams is a strong plus.

โ€ข Education:
High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelorโ€™s degree in hospitality management, event management, business, or a related field preferred.

โ€ข Technical Skills:
Proficiency with event management systems (such as Delphi, Social Tables, or similar), Microsoft Office, and basic financial tracking (event billing, BEOs, forecasting, and post-event reconciliation).

โ€ข Guest & Client Relations:
Professional, polished, and service-driven with strong written and verbal communication skills. Confident in managing client expectations, resolving issues, and ensuring a smooth event experience.

โ€ข Leadership & Professional Traits:
Highly organized, detail-oriented, dependable, and able to work independently while collaborating across departments. Comfortable leading event timelines and directing on-site service teams.

โ€ข Safety & Compliance:
Knowledge of workplace safety standards and the ability to ensure events comply with resort policies, fire codes, and service standards.

โ€ข Physical Requirements:
Ability to stand and walk for extended periods, lift up to 25 lbs., and navigate indoor and outdoor event spaces across the resort.

โ€ข Location Requirement:
Must be able to live and work on Mackinac Island for the duration of the 10-month season.
