MGC is an industry leading civil litigation firm celebrating 31 years of excellence spanning 22 offices across 12 states.

We are currently seeking an experienced Legal Assistant in our Alexandria, Virginia office to support our practices in Virginia, Maryland, and Washington DC. Candidates must be professional, motivated, organized and possess exceptional oral and written communication skills. Candidates must have experience supporting attorneys licensed in Virginia, Maryland and Washington, DC. Typing/transcription skills required. This position offers flexibility with a hybrid arrangement after an initial training period.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities: 

  • Draft/Transcribe pleadings, discovery, letters, client reports at attorney’s request
  • File/serve necessary pleadings in state court via US Mail and via federal online court system as directed by attorney
  • Prepare discovery for responses
  • Process invoices
  • Schedule depositions, mediations, meetings
  • Prepare deposition notices as directed by attorney
  • Serve discovery at attorney’s request; prepare standard enclosure letters as needed
  • Coordinate travel, conference room reservation, conference calls, etc.
  • Review files for closing (confirm with attorney and request final bill)
  • Send all outgoing mail request, regular, overnight, certified mail to runner mailbox
  • Other non-billing tasks as needed

The hourly salary range for this position is $22.05 - $35.89. Actual pay will be determined based on experience, geographic location, and other job-related factors as permitted by law.
