Position Description
The Concrete Superintendent oversees all on-site concrete construction operations from mobilization through final inspection. You will lead crews, coordinate subcontractors, enforce quality standards, and ensure that all poured and precast concrete work is completed on schedule, within budget, and in full compliance with project specifications and safety regulations.
Responsibilities
  • Maintain overall project schedule for concrete scope; identify and resolve schedule conflicts before they affect production
  • Conduct daily safety inspections, toolbox talks, and hazard assessments; ensure OSHA compliance at all times
  • Maintain accurate daily logs, pour records, weather conditions, and labor reports
  • Oversee formwork design review, shoring and reshoring plans, and safe stripping sequences
  • Review and interpret drawings, specifications, and pour schedules to plan daily and weekly work sequences
  • Review and track RFIs, submittals, and change orders related to concrete scope; communicate field conditions to the project manager in a timely manner
  • Coordinate concrete deliveries, pump trucks, placement equipment, and finishing crews to maximize pour efficiency
  • Monitor labor and material usage against budget; flag cost variances to the project manager promptly
  • Forecast labor needs and equipment requirements for upcoming work phases; coordinate with project manager on staffing adjustments
  • Collaborate with structural engineers, inspectors, and owner representatives throughout all phases of concrete work, including pre-pour planning, active pours, and post-pour evaluations
  • Manage concrete scope punch list items and coordinate repairs, patching, or remediation work through final acceptance

Position Requirements
Qualifications
  • 5+ years of progressive field experience in commercial or industrial concrete construction, with at least 3 years in a Superintendent or lead Foreman role
  • Demonstrated expertise in cast-in-place concrete: foundations, slabs-on-grade, elevated decks, walls, columns, and post-tensioned systems
  • OSHA 30 Construction certification
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple concurrent pours and coordinate effectively with subcontractors and trades
  • Proficiency with mobile devices and construction management software for daily reporting, RFI tracking, and document management

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with self-consolidating concrete (SCC), high-strength mixes and specialty admixtures
  • Familiarity with scheduling software (Primavera P6, Microsoft Project) and construction management platforms (Procore, PlanGrid)
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field
  • Bilingual English/Spanish a plus

Physical Requirements
  • Work involves sitting, walking or standing for extended periods of time in various adverse weather conditions
  • Must be able to repeatedly lift and/or carry weights of five to fifty pounds
  • Requires the ability of speaking and/or signaling people to convey or exchange information
  • Must have minimal levels of eye/hand/foot coordination
  • Numerical Aptitude- This position requires the ability to utilize mathematical formulas; adding and subtracting totals; multiplying and dividing.
  • Must be able to wear Personal Protective Equipment, safety glasses, hard hat with chin strap, reflective safety vest, gloves, ear protection, face shield, safety toe boots
