Professional Pavement Services is a family owned, full-service paving, construction, and property maintenance contractor serving Central and Northern Ohio. Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and hardworking Concrete Apprentice to join our construction team. This position will perform a variety of tasks related to the preparation, pouring, and finishing of concrete for residential, commercial, and infrastructure projects. This role requires physical stamina, attention to detail, and a commitment to safety. The ideal candidate will work collaboratively with a team to ensure projects are completed on time and meet quality standards.


Qualifications:

  • Experience: Previous experience in construction or concrete work is preferred but not required; on-the-job training will be provided.
  • Physical Requirements: Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs., stand for extended periods, and work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
  • Skills: Basic knowledge of construction tools and techniques; ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team.
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent preferred but not mandatory.
  • Certifications: Certification in OSHA 10-hour Construction Safety is a plus but not required.
  • Driverโ€™s License: Valid Ohio driverโ€™s license with the ability to meet insurability standards.
  • Seasonal Duties: Assist with snow removal and de-icing during winter months.
  • Phone: Must have cell phone to clock in and out daily, log jobs, and follow other company communications.

Working Conditions

  • Work is primarily outdoors at construction sites, including residential developments, and commercial buildings.
  • Exposure to dust, noise, and varying temperatures is common.
  • Typical schedule is Monday through Friday, with occasional overtime or weekend work depending on project demands.
  • Rare but possible multi-day, out-of-town trips, including long-distance travel, and overnight stays.

Salary and Benefits


  • Pay Range: Starting wage aligns with local non-union standards (apart from prevailing wage jobs) and is commensurate with experience, versatility, and additional skills like lawncare/chemical application.
