Job description

The Finance Director directs and integrates all activities associated with the accounting (including payroll and accounts payable functions), financial reporting, control and monitoring of financial functions for the Southern Mono Healthcare District (SMHD). This position is responsible for the maintenance of accounting records in accordance with GAAP, analyzes and evaluates the financial performance of SMHD, directs the monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting requirements, assists in preparing the Board reports, directs the year-end audit, and coordinates the annual operating and capital budget preparation. Oversight of decision support and data base maintenance for report generation. This position has broad exposure to business and operations issues, goals, and objectives, and assists the Chief Financial Officer as assigned in managing additional functions or reporting relationships.
What You'll Do:
  • Manage and supervise the General Accounting, Finance, Payroll, Accounts Payable, and Decision Support functions.
  • Prepares schedules and information related to year-end external financial audit.
  • Oversees payroll staff and assures that all bi-weekly payrolls are prepared accurately and timely.
  • Oversees accounts payable staff and assures that all weekly vendor distributions are prepared accurately and timely.
  • Establishes policies, procedures, and programs to ensure fiscal security.
  • Monitors preparation of statistical reports and financial statements.
  • Coordinate the annual capital and operating budget preparation process in concert with CFO and management.
  • Monitors daily cash balances and daily cash report for senior management.
  • Supervises month balance sheet reconciliation
  • Perform various financial analyses on an as-needed basis as requested by the CFO and others.
  • Responsible for state reporting.

  • Five years of accounting experience required
