Job description

A large company is working with LHH to identify a temporary Accounts Payable Specialist for their team. You will be handling full cycle accounts payable for a set of vendors. The ideal candidate will have at least a year of accounting experience and be interested in cultivating a long-term career in accounting. There is a lot of opportunity to grow at this company, and for the right individual, this could turn into permanent employment. This position offers a quick interview process and a convenient location north of Seattle. Responsibilities:
  • Process high-volume vendor invoices from receipt through payment, ensuring accuracy, proper coding, and timely entry into the accounting system.
  • Perform three-way matching of invoices, purchase orders, and receiving documents to verify approval and compliance with company policies.
  • Manage the full accounts payable cycle, including invoice review, approvals, payment processing, and vendor account reconciliation.
  • Prepare and execute weekly check runs, ACH payments, wire transfers, and other electronic payment methods within established deadlines.
  • Reconcile vendor statements, investigate discrepancies, and resolve billing issues by coordinating with vendors and internal departments.
  • Maintain accurate vendor records, including W-9 documentation, payment terms, tax information, and banking details.
  • Assist with month-end and year-end close activities by preparing AP accruals, reconciling AP subledger balances, and supporting audit requests.
Qualifications:
  • Associate's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
  • At least a year of accounting experience.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including sorting, filtering, pivot tables, and basic formulas.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple deadlines and manage competing priorities.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive financial information.
  • Customer-service mindset with the ability to build positive vendor relationships.
