Corning's Environmental Technologies segment manufactures ceramic substrates and filter products for emissions control in mobile and stationary applications around the world.

Corning Environmental Technologies (CET) is seeking a Computer Vision Engineer to join the Engineering Measurements & Controls group. This entry-level role focuses on developing and supporting measurement systems for image processing and vision-based measurement systems used in the inspection and production of CET products.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support development of computer vision measurement systems, including machine learning and AI applications
  • Design and implement algorithms for image processing and dimensional measurement analysis
  • Develop, test, and refine software to support system functionality and performance
  • Assist with system assembly, validation, and troubleshooting
  • Apply CNNs and other AI models to improve image recognition and processing
  • Support transfer of technology from development to manufacturing
  • Train internal teams on developed systems and maintain technical documentation

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, or a related field
  • 1-3 years of experience in programming and computer vision system development
  • Proficiency in C# and Python preferred
  • Knowledge of image processing algorithms, machine learning, and AI technologies, including CNNs
  • Understanding of object-oriented programming and software architecture concepts
  • Experience with data retrieval, analysis, and reporting
  • Strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Halcon, OpenCV, TensorFlow, or PyTorch
  • Knowledge of optical measurement systems, metrology, or manufacturing inspection applications
  • Experience integrating AI-based solutions into manufacturing environments

Additional Information

  • Travel: 10-30%
  • Schedule: 40+ hours per week

This position does not support immigration sponsorship.  

The range for this position is  $69,635.00 - $95,749.00  assuming full time status. Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education.
