PC Refresh Technician

Experience Level: Entry Level

Work Environment: On‑site

Position Overview

The PC Refresh Technician provides Tier I technical support for end users, assisting with troubleshooting hardware, software, and application issues. This role supports device imaging, deployment, asset tracking, and general IT operations within an enterprise environment. The ideal candidate is organized, communicative, and eager to grow their technical skill set.

Essential Functions
  • Image and assist in deploying desktops, laptops, mobile devices, and tablets for new hires, role changes, and hardware replacements.
  • Research, troubleshoot, and resolve issues submitted through the IT Service Desk in alignment with service level expectations.
  • Participate in after‑hours on‑call rotation as needed.
  • Log all support interactions in the incident management system.
  • Create and publish support documentation; provide user training when required.
  • Set up, disconnect, relocate, and reconnect computers, phones, and peripherals following enterprise standards.
  • Document, maintain, upgrade, or replace hardware, software, and licenses.
  • Assist in maintaining operating system images and deployment processes.
  • Support network printers and general peripheral devices.
  • Track and update IT asset movement and maintain accurate hardware/software inventories.
  • Research and evaluate hardware and software solutions.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
Education & Experience
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Associate degree preferred.
  • 0–3 years of experience supporting a 100+ user environment preferred.
Competencies, Knowledge & Skills
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Solid understanding of Microsoft operating systems and Microsoft Office.
  • Technical knowledge of PC hardware, iPhones, and iPads.
  • Basic Active Directory experience.
  • Ability to troubleshoot networks and connectivity issues.
  • Familiarity with deployment tools used for imaging in enterprise environments.
  • Basic understanding of Group Policy.
Preferred Certifications
  • CompTIA A+
  • Microsoft Desktop Support certifications
Working Conditions
  • Standard office environment with periods of sitting or standing.
  • May require flexible scheduling, including evenings, weekends, and on‑call hours.

This is a Contract position based out of Dayton, OH.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $20.00/hr.
