Position Summary
Samsung Austin Semiconductor is seeking an engineer to support Yield Management System (YMS) applications. This position will work across the phases of the Software Testing Life Cycle and code deployment to ensure changepoints to these applications do not interrupt daily operations in a 24/7 manufacturing environment. In addition, this position will serve as the on-site expert for a set of YMS applications within the team when yield analysis, process improvement, maintenance, or advanced troubleshooting is needed.
The Process & Equipment Visualization team is responsible for maintaining and upgrading first party Samsung systems that monitor, analyze, and improve wafer yield by correlating defect, test, and process data across the fab. These systems act as critical defense lines for fab quality by identifying yield excursions, enabling root cause analysis, and supporting continuous yield improvement efforts across process tools and modules. This team works closely with fab and Defect engineering teams to refine data visualization, accessibility, and advanced analytics capabilities.
Role and Responsibilities
Here's What You'll Be Responsible For:
  • Take full ownership of system including source code review, application execution analysis, and process performance monitoring.
  • Develop unit testing pipelines for both standard and normal change points to validate intended functionality.
  • Create procedures and refine troubleshooting techniques to be utilized by 24/7 shift-based operation personnel to ensure system resiliency.
  • Maintain ETL pipelines and scheduled jobs.
  • Provide second level escalation response as part of team to ensure 24/7 operation of system to support factory needs.
  • Partner with Defect Engineering and Yield Engineering stakeholders to advise on system features and analytics capabilities in order to meet business objectives related to yield improvement and defect reduction.

Skills and Qualifications
Here's what you'll need:
  • BS or MS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related discipline
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a software engineering or DevOps related role

The current base salary range for this role is between $106,000 - $145,000. Individual base pay rates will depend on factors including duties, work location, education, skills, qualifications and experience. Total compensation for this position will include a competitive benefits package and may include participation in company incentive compensation programs, which are based on factors to include organizational and individual performance.
