Description:
Northrop Grumman Enterprise Services is seeking a well-qualified Staff Systems Administrator to join its dynamic team of technical professionals in the Roy, Utah or the Huntsville, Alabama area in support of the Sentinel Program.
Job Summary
Provide subject-matter expertise in Windows Domain, VMware, VCF, Horizon VDI, and enterprise migrations as an integral member of a collaborative team. Contribute to the maintenance and optimization of systems while ensuring security, reliability, and compliance with DoD RMF and NISPOM requirements.
Key Responsibilities and General Qualifications
Serve as a Staff Systems Administrator, ensuring smooth operation, patching, and monitoring of Windows and VMware platforms, along with managing backup/recovery processes, antivirus protection, and disk space.
Develop and implement scripting and automation initiatives using Ansible and PowerShell to optimize system configuration and provisioning.
Enforce security measures—including STIG compliance, audits, and IA accreditation—in accordance with NISPOM, DCID 6/3-ICD 503, and other guidelines.
Design and implement network and storage architectures, including SAN/NAS, VLAN configurations, and firewall policies, to support multi-site environments.
Lead and mentor a cross-functional team of engineers and technicians, facilitating continuous improvement initiatives.
Translate end-user requirements into technical solutions while maintaining clear communication across organizational levels.
General Qualifications: Demonstrated expertise in Windows and virtualization technologies, strong communication skills, and the ability to adapt to evolving government regulations and technology trends.
Basic Requirements
12+ years of experience in Windows Server, VMware vSphere, and Horizon VDI environments with a demonstrated track record in enterprise migrations and system maintenance.
Active DoD Secret Clearance is required.
Proven experience meeting DOD 8570 IAT Level 2 standards (or equivalent certifications such as Security+, CySA+, CCNA Security, GSEC, SSCP) with ongoing recertification as mandated.
Deep knowledge of Windows Domain architecture and infrastructure design.
Proficiency in scripting and automation tools (Ansible, PowerShell) and experience with Cisco switching, virtual firewalls, and SAN/NAS design.
Ability to perform physical tasks of up to 40 pounds and commit to working evenings/weekends when necessary.
Preferred Requirements
DoD TS Clearance is preferred.
Advanced degrees (Master’s or PhD) with proportional experience, or 16+ years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree.
Additional higher-level certifications such as CISSP, SSCP+, or GSEC beyond the basic requirements.
Prior experience in classified environments with strict audit and logging protocols.
Experience participating in large, cross-departmental teams.
