Job Descrition
An IT Applications Architect – Equipment & Field Technologies is responsible for designing and overseeing the implementation of the organization's technical solutions and will serve as the technical expert on solution design, development, and implementation requirements to address business needs. The IT Technical Architect II works closely with internal stakeholders, external vendors, and IT development and operations teams to develop, maintain, and enhance our enterprise architecture. Critical for success is a deep understanding of enterprise-level software development, infrastructure, and security, as well as experience with modern technologies and industry best practices. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills and strong communication and interpersonal skills are key. Must be able to work in a team environment.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Strong architectural understanding of construction equipment lifecycle management (request → dispatch → telematics → maintenance)Experience with equipment/asset management platforms (e.g., Samsara, Tenna or similar)
  • Experience with integrating telematics and IoT integrations
  • Ability to architect real-time and batch data pipelines for high-volume equipment telemetry and field data
  • Experience designing integration between equipment systems and ERP/PMIS (job costing, equipment rates, utilization, maintenance costs)
  • Experience with geospatial data and mapping integrations (GIS alignment, jobsite tracking, geofencing)
  • Knowledge of safety and compliance systems (inspections, certifications, operator qualifications, incident tracking)
  • Ability to architect cross-platform workflows (equipment dispatch, field requests, maintenance work orders, service history)
  • Ability to enforce security, role-based access, and data governance across application platforms
  • Vendor/platform evaluation and roadmap ownership across construction operations systems
Qualifications and Skills:
  • Bachelors' Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field; and 4-6 years of experience as an IT Technical Architect or similar role, or an equivalent combination
  • Experience with enterprise-level infrastructure design, security, and performance best practices
  • Experience with project management and life cycle management methodologies
Desired Qualifications:
