Job description

Silicon & Systems Architect Description - The Technology & Innovation Organization (TIO) is a newly formed division dedicated to driving technological advancements and fostering innovation across HP. Our vision is to transform HP into a technology leader that enables intelligence at the edge. This role is within the Advanced Compute Technology organization, part of TIO, with focus on driving Silicon and System level AI technologies and innovation.

This includes developing new architectures, identifying and evaluating emerging technologies & IPs, driving technical collaboration with our partners, and building a technology roadmap to drive differentiated value to our global business unit customers. Specifically, we are looking for candidates with deep experience in AI hardware architectures (CPU/GPU/NPU), expertise with custom/semi-custom silicon development, system software/AI software integration, and overall deep understanding of system integration challenges. Responsibilities Develops architectures and methodologies for Silicon and system design and development across multiple platforms and organizations.

Identifies and evaluates new technologies, innovations, and outsourced development partner relationships for alignment with technology roadmap and business value. Drives integration of new technologies into projects and activities within business unit engineering teams Reviews and evaluates designs and project activities for compliance with technology and development guidelines and standards; provides tangible feedback to improve product quality. Drives overall tracking and reporting of various technology/hardware product related performance metrics and reports against the same.

Exercises independent judgment in resolving business issues and establishing functional policies for guidance. Provides domain-specific expertise and overall hardware technology and platform leadership and perspective to cross-organization projects, programs, and activities. Leverages functional expertise in guiding strategy and setting functional policy and direction, while helping the team in realization of these operational and strategic plans.

Provides guidance and mentoring to less- experienced staff members to set an example of electrical hardware design and development, innovation, and excellence. Education & Experience Recommended Graduate or Doctorate Degree in Electrical/Computer Engineering, or any other related discipline or commensurate work experience. Typically has 10+ years of work experience, with specific expertise in AI and Silicon development Knowledge & Skills Compute (CPU/GPU/NPU) system architecture and needs - compute, memory, IO and bus topologies Track record of deep architecture & technology analysis - PPA+Cost, workloads, benchmarks and trade-offs required for scale.

Understanding of Si design methodology, back-end, packaging architectures and engagements with fabs Understanding of System SW and SW/HW optimization requirements - bios/firmware, OS/App The base pay range for this role is $146,650 to $225,850 annually with additional opportunities for pay in the form of bonus and/or equity (applies to US candidates only). Pay varies by work location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
