Job description

As part of our Corporate Engineering team the Corporate Control Engineer II will participate in project teams to design systems; specify, purchase, and install equipment. They also will assist Plants in troubleshooting and problem solving when called upon.

Main Duties or Responsibilities:

  • Writing Ladder Logic on new projects and existing equipment.
  • Perform HMI design.
  • Design and draft elements relating to projects for implementation.
  • Perform Control Cabinet Design.
  • Contact manufacturers and vendors for materials required to support proposed design.
  • Receive quotes and delivery schedules on projects.
  • Perform basic computer system design.
  • Perform basic network design on new projects and system upgrades.
  • Provide technical support for facilities worldwide.
  • File documentation of engineering drawings. 
  • Ensure Company safety procedures are being adhered to.
  • Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.
  • Participate in maintenance as needed.

 

Skills & Experience or Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience in a field of study such as electrical, computer systems.
  • Position requires between 5-7 years of engineering experience
  • Strong Skills in Ladder Logic, preferably with Allen Bradley systems. ie. PLC 5, SLC and Control Logix.
  • Strong Skills in HMI design, preferably with Ignition and FactoryTalk
  • Strong Skills in Solidworks Electrical
  • Ability to help evaluate project requirements and apply the appropriate solutions.
  • Strong Skills with Ethernet/IP and basic networking best practices.
  • Understanding of plant power distribution equipment and controls.
  • Understanding of project engineering/project management. 
  • Basic understanding of programming languages, especially Python.
  • Must combine problem-solving techniques with innovation for best solutions.
  • Must be able to look at the big picture as well as the details. This type of analysis and decision-making is needed daily.
