Data Scientist III - Plymouth, MN - Onsite
Daikin Applied is seeking a Data Scientist III who will be the key analytics expert in an R&D laboratory that evaluates the performance of new HVAC products and technologies. As the primary technical lead for lab data systems, you will be influential in creating a strategic vision for and providing insights from the laboratory analytics and data.

Your Responsibilities:
  • Develop data automation strategy and roadmap aligned with Digital, Quality, and Engineering teams for enhanced data insights and automation
  • Develop, improve, and publish existing dashboards that track key performance indicators (KPIs) for laboratory operation, identify trends, and support data-driven decision-making for laboratory and quality activities
  • Write, validate, and maintain scripts and queries to automate data collection, standardize formats, and reduce manual reporting effort
  • Create machine learning (ML) models and statistical models to discover trends and detect anomalies in laboratory test data Adapt existing work with changing laboratory and digital softwares
  • Collaborate with Test Engineering, Quality, and Digital teams
  • Maintain and create documentation related to scripts, models, and dashboards
  • Share expertise and provide training to build the competencies of data quality and analytics skills to peers

Your Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Data Analytics, Data Science, Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, Engineering, or related field
  • 5+ years (or 3+ years with a masters) of professional experience in analytics, data science, or a related field
  • Proficiency in Python and SQL for data extraction, transformation, automation, and analysis or equivalent programs
  • Proficiency in Power BI Desktop and Power BI Cloud Services or equivalent business intelligence/data visualization tools
  • Proficient in MS Power Apps and MS Office
  • Experience with databases including data collection, transformation, and storage
  • Experience in creating machine learning (ML) models, statistical models, and anomaly detection
  • Strong verbal/written communication and collaboration skills
  • Ability to multitask

Your Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master's degree in Data Analytics, Data Science, Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, Engineering, or related field
  • Experience in R&D lab, manufacturing, or operations work environment

The typical annual base salary for this position ranges from $90,000 - $153,300 in Minnesota plus a 10% bonus. The range displayed represents the pay range for all positions in the job grade which this position falls. Individual base pay will depend on a wide range of factors including your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
