How You’ll Make an Impact:

The CMM Programmer develops programs to use on CMM for dimensional inspection of manufactured product. Uses CMM and other inspection tools to inspect product for dimensional conformance according to production schedule. Reads and interprets Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) data. Complies with internal quality system, business policies, and regulatory requirements; supports business goals and objectives.


What you’ll be doing as a CMM Programmer:.

  • Working a full-time, onsite position at our Rockford, MI location.
  • Develop, generate, and optimize CMM programs for new and existing parts.
  • Troubleshoot, validate, and perform proof-outs of CMM programs.
  • Work with CAD models (e.g., CATIA) to create accurate inspection programs.
  • Analyze part features and GD&T requirements to ensure proper inspection strategy.
  • Improve existing programs for efficiency, accuracy, and cycle time reduction.
  • Collaborate with Engineering and Manufacturing to support new product introduction and process improvements.
  • Identify programming-related issues and recommend solutions to improve quality and throughput.
  • Perform CMM inspections for final layout and validation as needed.
  • Conduct in-process, final, and incoming inspections to verify product conformance.
  • Perform First Article Inspections (FAI) in accordance with AS9102 and customer requirements.
  • Use conventional inspection tools (calipers, micrometers, height gauges, bore gauges) as required.
  • Support first article buy-offs, in-process checks, and final inspections.
  • Document and report non-conformances and support corrective actions.
  • Interpret engineering drawings, manufacturing plans, and GD&T (ASME Y14.5).
  • Maintain inspection reports, FAI documentation, and quality records.
  • Coordinate with Quality and Manufacturing teams to meet production schedules and quality goals.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives and adhere to all safety and quality policies.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications (Education, skills and experience):

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a quality or CMM programming role.
  • Demonstrated success in CMM Programming.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, GD&T, Catia, and Enovia specifications.
  • Experience with CMM Software such as Zeiss, Calypso, PC-DMIS, MCOSMOS, VeriSurf, Wenzel, etc.
    • If versed in other CMM programs, a willingness to learn those above is a must.
  • Knowledge of aerospace inspection techniques, trigonometry, and measuring practices.
  • Working knowledge of Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
  • Proven analytical, organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience with first article reports, recordkeeping, and documentation control.
  • Strong organizational skills with proven ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications (Education, skills and experience):

  • Experience with Zeiss and Calypso CMM Software.
  • Renishaw Revo 2 5 axis CMM head, In machine profilometer attachment
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience as a QA Inspector in the aerospace industry
  • Hands-on experience with CMMs, geometric tolerances, and precision measurement equipment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and MRP systems.
