Overview

LMI is seeking a Countering Weapons of Mass Destruction (CWMD) Computer Programming Subject Matter Expert (SME) interested in joining a team who will provide Strategic Plans and Policy Support Services (SPPSS) support to Headquarters, Department of Air Force (DAF) A10 office in counterproliferation and CWMD mission areas.  A successful candidate demonstrates competency in working with the US Air Force headquarter-level senior leaders and staff, attention to detail, critical thinking, and excellent communications and coordination skills. This position requires active Top Secret with eligibility to access Sensitive Compartmented Information. This is an Onsite position at Client's location in Arlington, VA and Washington, DC. 

The growing threat of WMD, specifically chemical, biological, radiological, and nuclear (CBRN) weapons, poses one of the most serious challenges facing Department of the Air Force (DAF) (i.e., Headquarters USAF and US Space Force) core mission operations. As part of the Service's responsibility to provide CBRN and CWMD-ready Airmen and Mission- Critical systems (i.e. aircraft, spacecraft) for Combatant Command Air Component forces, the DAF is tasked to fully develop and institutionalize required CWMD capabilities, thus enabling the success of air, space and cyber operational missions in the 21st century battlespace.

Responsibilities
  • Supports in development, maintenance and operation of current and future sorties generation and hazard prediction modeling and simulation products (e.g., VLSTRACK, HPAC, JEM, etc.)
  • Leads in programming new modeling and visualization tools as directed to depict complex systems, such as aircraft generation flow or chemical agent behavior
  • Deliver new custom modeling programs and visualization tools developed in common programming languages - (e.g., Python, C++, Visual Bsics)
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in STEM
  • Expert programming knowledge in Python, C++, and Visual Basic
  • At least 10 years of experience in working in DoW CBRN defense and/or counterproliferation programs.
  • Active Top Secret / SCI
  • Excellent oral and written communications skills
  • Experience in CBRN modeling and simulation work
  • Experience in working at Department of Air Force headquarters level is highly preferred
