Job description

Duties As a SUPV IT SPECIALIST (INFOSEC/NETWORK) GS-2210-12, you will serve as Computer Network Operations (CNO) Team Chief, supervising a team of specialists ensuring the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of information systems, networks, and data through the enhancement of Department of Defense (DoD) information systems security programs, policies, procedures and tools. Enhancement of information systems security programs, procedures, and tools are specifically accomplished by conducting vulnerability assessments and operations of planned and installed information systems and ensuring all protection needs are met. Perform other duties as assigned. Requirements Conditions of employment * NATIONAL GUARD MEMBERSHIP IS REQUIRED. Experience may have been gained in work such as computer operator or assistant, computer sales representative, program analyst, or other positions that required the use or adaptation of computer programs and systems. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE : Must 1-year specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade (GS-11). Experience includes: Ability to direct a team in the performance of in-depth assessments of installation information security. Responsible for refining and implementing squadron policies and procedures to detect, exploit, and recommend countermeasures for customer installation vulnerabilities. Exercises supervisory responsibility and authority including granting leave, recommending personnel for promotions, and initiating disciplinary actions as needed. Establishes performance standards and appraises performance of subordinates. ADDITIONAL CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT: Information Assurance Certification" is a condition of employment. This position includes information assurance (IA) work as a paramount duty requirement. Per DoD 8570.01-M, the incumbent of this position must achieve the appropriate IA certification within six months of assignment of these duties. A waiver of this six month requirement may be granted per DoD 8570.01-M, C3.2.4.2 or C3.2.4.3. Failure to receive the proper IA certification may result in removal from this position. Education This job does not have an education qualification requirement.
