Job description

Summary:

The Network Administrator supports the organization on-stie by maintaining NOC equipment as well as providing backup support to employees as needed. Responsible for developing into the main NOC administrator. This full-time position is based on-site in Wamego, Kansas.

Essential Functions:

  • Ensure all company values are adhered to and promoted. This includes leading by example and participating in employee recognition programs.
  • Manage and support NOC hardware and software
  • Work after-hours as needed for maintenance and emergencies
  • Maintain documentation of all systems and configurations
  • Assist IT Manager in designing and implementation for all systems
  • Assist in discussions, evaluations and implementations of new hardware and software
  • Collaborate as a team to ensure efficient successes
  • Utilize department resources, tools, and documentation to quickly and efficiently drive accurate resolutions
  • Assist in monitoring network systems
  • Provide backup to IT Support Staff for technical support to end users
  • Work and communicate with end users and ensure issues are resolved to their satisfaction
  • Participate in on call rotation

Competencies:

  • Ability to read, write and speak English fluently
  • Capable of providing high attention to detail with follow-thru
  • Strong documentation skills and ability to share information
  • Self-motivation and comfortable working in a team-oriented and collaborative environment
  • Able to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information
  • Ability to conduct research, absorption and retention of information is required
  • Advanced understanding of an IT Department or Network Administrator
  • Effective troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Experience maintaining virtual environments and Servers
  • Available for occasional overnight travel
  • Able to set for prolonged periods and/or standing work
  • Ability to sit, walk, stand, hear, kneel, crouch, stoop
  • Able to distinguish colors, climb ladders, lift and carry, push, pull up to 50 lbs.

Education & Experiences:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Certification or course work in Information & Network Technology
  • Experience with SonicWALL, VMWare, MS Server 2012 and newer, Office 365, Active Directory, MS Fileservers, MS SQL, Management and Configuration of MS Exchange 2016 and newer, Veeam, PowerShell scripting, WSUS,
  • Experience with successfully completing and/or assisting in network wiring projects, including making cables and utilizing network testing tools.
