Job Overview:

The System Administrator supports the Army University (ArmyU) G-6 Desktop IT Support contract at Fort Leavenworth, KS. The System Administrator will provide technical support in the installation, configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of ArmyU's IT systems, networks, and classroom technology across a multi-building campus environment. This role focuses on reliable IT operations, system security compliance, and direct customer support for ArmyU staff, faculty, and students.


Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Provide Tier I/II system administration and user support for desktops, laptops, printers, and classroom IT systems across NIPR, SIPR, Mission Command, and commercial networks.
  • Perform imaging, patching, and security updates in compliance with Army IT standards.
  • Support account management, ticket remediation, and troubleshooting for staff, faculty, and students via in-person, phone, email, and remote tools.
  • Assist with hardware lifecycle tasks: staging, installation, recovery, and turn-in of end-user devices and peripherals.
  • Validate classroom and conference room IT equipment functionality and remediate issues as required.
  • Install, configure, and maintain software applications (e.g., Microsoft Office, Adobe Suite, Army-approved enterprise tools).
  • Document support requests, ticket resolutions, and update SOPs/TTPs as directed.
  • Generate required weekly and monthly reporting on ticket activity, patching, and equipment validation.
  • Adhere to Army cybersecurity, information assurance, and physical security requirements.

Requirements

Minimum Requirements/Education:

  • Associate's degree in IT, Computer Science, or related field; or equivalent technical training/experience.
  • 2-4 years of experience in system administration, desktop support, or IT service management.
  • DoD 8570.01-M IA Technical Level II certification (e.g., CompTIA Security+ CE).
  • Familiarity with Windows OS, Active Directory, and imaging solutions.
  • Understanding of Army IT compliance, RMF, and IA requirements preferred.
  • Experience with help desk/ticketing systems and troubleshooting hardware/software issues.
  • Strong customer service and communication skills.
  • U.S. Citizen with ability to obtain and maintain a favorable Tier 3 background check and CAC access.
