Job description

Job Title: CAD Specialist Department: Product Development FLSA: Exempt Summary: Reporting to the Product Engineering Manager, the CAD Specialist oversees various CAD projects, including creating and managing foam patterns, maintaining the cover database, and offering frame design support. Primary Responsibilities: Support cover technician in setting up and maintaining cover files and Bill of Materials (BOM). Develop and design foam patterns, providing drafted specifications for foam suppliers.

Coordinate with foam vendors and provide necessary instructions. Design frames when required. Maintain plywood and chipboard database in Nester, synchronizing drawing layers with Komo tools.

Assist customer service with configuration layouts, dimensions, and warranty-related recuts. Troubleshoot production issues, including Nester maintenance, production recuts, and MDF conversions. Perform other assigned duties.

Knowledge, Skills & Experience: Organizational and project management skills. Attention to detail. Knowledge of manufacturing principles and methods.

Effective interaction with external vendors, suppliers, and internal departments. Ability to maintain a safe work environment. Problem analysis and resolution skills.

Task and project organization and prioritization. Excellent verbal and written communication. Collaborative interaction with others.

Minimum Requirements: 2 years of experience in pattern making and relevant software packages (AutoCAD, Solid Works, etc.). 2 years of experience with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Project, PowerPoint, etc.). Associates Degree in Computer Aided Drafting and Design or a related field

Desirables: Furniture industry experience. 3D CAD knowledge.
