Control Panels USA is seeking an experienced CAD Manager to join our growing team for a full-time role. In general, the CAD Manager is responsible for leading a team of CAD drafters and developing detailed design drawings and related specifications for the manufacturing of control panels.

We offer custom design and fabrication for OEM clients, contractors, and end users requiring either large or small production runs. Our factory in Austin, Texas houses state of the art engineering, manufacturing, and testing capabilities. This allows us to supply our customers with cost effective solutions while maintaining very competitive lead times. Standard business days and hours: Monday-Friday, 8:00 am - 4:30 pm.
Salary Based on Exp
Responsibilities include:
 
  •  Lead, manage and mentor a team of CAD Drafters
  • Ensure CAD Team adheres to CP USA standards thus providing consistent drawings
  • Generate and/or revise schematic drawings, wiring diagrams, physical equipment assembly drawings
  • Analyze markups from production and revise drawings to reflect finished product
  • Brainstorm with CAD Team to continue improving methods and procedures
  • Meet with Project Managers to review upcoming projects
  • Review cost estimates to ensure correct parts are utilized on drawings
  • May create designs based on contract drawings and specifications
  • Adhere to timelines as set forth by Project Managers
  • Resolve customer complaints by investigating problems; develop solutions; prepare reports; make recommendations to management
  • Any other task, assignments, duty, or projects, as requested by management

  •  3+ years of team management experience
  • 5+ years of experience using AutoCAD
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office products (e.g. Word, Excel, etc.)
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings including schematics and electrical product guidelines
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Strong organizational and multi-tasking skills
  • Ability to follow direction and procedures
  • Ability to work on multiple projects at time
  • Ability to work in a team-oriented, collaborative environment
  • Detail oriented
