Position Summary
The CAD Detailer / CNC Programmer is responsible for creating accurate technical drawings, developing CNC programs, and supporting the fabrication of high-quality exhibit, millwork, and custom display components. This role combines technical drafting expertise, CNC programming knowledge, and manufacturing support to ensure projects are produced efficiently, accurately, and according to specifications. The position plays a critical role in translating design concepts into production-ready documentation while maintaining quality standards, meeting project deadlines, and supporting a safe and productive manufacturing environment.
Essential Duties amp; Responsibilities
  • Create detailed CAD drawings, shop drawings, and production documentation from project specifications and design concepts.
  • Program, optimize, and support CNC machinery for the fabrication of wood, plastic, and composite exhibit components.
  • Interpret blueprints, architectural drawings, and technical specifications to ensure accurate production.
  • Develop nesting layouts and machining strategies to maximize material efficiency and production output.
  • Perform test runs, validate CNC programs, and adjust machine settings to ensure quality and accuracy.
  • Inspect finished parts using precision measuring tools to verify compliance with drawings and specifications.
  • Troubleshoot programming, machining, and fabrication issues to maintain project schedules and production quality.
  • Maintain CNC equipment, tooling, production records, and machine documentation.
  • Collaborate with design, project management, production, and installation teams to support successful project execution.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment while supporting continuous process improvement initiatives.
  • Work overtime, evenings, and weekends as needed to meet project deadlines and customer expectations.
  • Provide leadership support and assist with fabrication shop floor operations when required.
Qualifications
Required
  • Experience creating CAD drawings, shop drawings, and production documentation in a manufacturing or fabrication environment.
  • Proficiency in CNC programming, machine operation, and CAD/CAM software.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and project specifications.
  • Knowledge of machining processes, precision measuring tools, tolerances, and quality control standards.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to troubleshoot programming and production issues.
  • Strong attention to detail, time management, and organizational skills in a fast-paced environment.

Pay Transparency Statement
The expected compensation range for this position is $25.00 to $30.00 per hour (equivalent to approximately $52,000 to $62,400 annually for full-time employment). The final offer will reflect the selected candidate's experience, qualifications, skills, and other job-related factors.
