Computer Lab Assistant
The position of a Computer Lab Assistant will be available at East Central ISD for the 2026-2027 School Year. All individuals (district employees included) who are interested in this position must apply online through Frontline via the district website. The deadline for submitting an application is until 4:00 pm., April 09, 2026, or until the position is filled.
PRIMARY PURPOSE: Work under minimum supervision to assist students in the use of computers and educational software in the campus computer lab.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
  1. Set up and maintain computer lab and student accounts.
  2. Supervise and assist students as needed.
  3. Input data and maintain files on student progress and use of instructional programs.
  4. Identify problems, troubleshoot and resolve routine problems, and arrange for maintenance and repair of computer equipment when needed.
  5. Ability to communicate and work with students and teachers effectively.
  6. Work closely with the campus coordinator.
  7. Have regular attendance.
  8. Maintain a computer lab in a neat and orderly manner including bulletin boards and displays.
  9. Manage student behavior in the computer lab.
  10. Collect student data, maintain a student database, and generate reports.
  11. Participate in staff development, faculty meetings, and special events as needed.
  12. Perform other duties as assigned.

NOTE: Not all applicants will be interviewed. Each applicant's resume, application, and other available information will be considered in the screening process. Only those persons currently meeting all of the minimum requirements will be screened.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education/Certification:
High school diploma or GED
Valid Texas educational aide certificate
Must have one of the following:
  • 48 college hours with some emphasis on child growth or development or related area
  • Treasuring our paraprofessionals Certificate (must be obtained prior to employment)

Special Knowledge:
Knowledge of basic computer operations and skills. A+ program preferred.
Must perform duties with a minimum of supervision.
EQUIPMENT USED: Standard office equipment including personal computer and peripherals; standard instructional equipment
WORKING CONDITIONS: Mental Demands/Physical Demands/Environmental Factors: Maintain emotional control under stress; work with frequent interruptions. Frequent standing, stooping, bending, kneeling, pushing, and pulling. Work inside and outside (exposure to sun, heat, cold, and inclement weather); regular exposure to noise. Move small stacks of textbooks, media equipment, desks, and other classroom or adaptive equipment. Regular light lifting and carrying (less than 15 pounds) and positioning of students with physical disabilities; control behavior through physical restraint, and assist non-ambulatory students and lift and move adaptive and other classroom equipment. Exposure to biological hazards. Normal classroom environment.
