Job description

Title: Computer Hardware Technician
Location: Houston, TX, 77040 (will travel to different sites within Houston)
Duration: Contract to Hire
Work Requirements: US Citizen, GC Holders, or Authorized to Work in the U.S.
We are seeking an IT Hardware Technician to support a large-scale Point-of-Sale (POS) system deployment across multiple restaurant locations. This role is ideal for IT professionals looking to gain hands-on infrastructure and deployment experience in a real-world environment.
You will work closely with the IT team to stage, install, and deploy hardware systems, playing a key role in a high-visibility, enterprise-wide rollout.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Stage and configure POS hardware ,including terminals, peripherals, and related equipment
  • Perform hardware installations and deployments at restaurant locations
  • Assist with network cabling, device connectivity, and physical setup
  • Support pre-deployment preparation at IT warehouse and office locations
  • Troubleshoot basic hardware and connectivity issues during setup
  • Ensure systems are properly installed and ready for go-live
  • Document setup processes and assist with inventory tracking

Work Environment & Schedule
  • Work will be split between the corporate office, the IT warehouse (Westheimer area), and the field locations (restaurants across Houston)
  • After-hours deployment work required 1-3 nights per month (typically 11:00 PM - 5:00 AM). Rotational schedule across the team
  • Local travel within Houston is required

Required Qualifications
  • Experience in IT support, hardware deployment, or technical field services
  • Basic knowledge of: Computer hardware, peripherals, and device setup, networking fundamentals (cabling, connectivity)
  • Ability to troubleshoot basic technical issues
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Willingness to work hands-on in a field environment

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with POS systems or retail/restaurant technology, hardware rollouts or device deployments, building or upgrading PCs
  • Exposure to tools or environments involving device imaging or IT asset management
