Job description


You will be the Hardware Engineer for the Air Dominance team within Missiles & Fire Control (MFC). Our team guarantees that every mechanical, electrical, and electronic packaging drawing, model, and specification meets rigorous standards, is production ready, and remains fully traceable in a configuration controlled environment.
What You Will Be Doing
As the Hardware Engineer you will serve as the independent authority that verifies the integrity, compliance, and manufacturability of all design deliverables for the Air Dominance program. Working closely with engineers, manufacturing, and quality partners, you'll protect the program's schedule and performance by catching issues early and championing best practice design standards. Your responsibilities will include:
• Performing GD&T analysis and fit check reviews on PTC Creo/Windchill 3 D models and 2 D drawings.
• Validating that designs comply with ASME standards, Lockheed Martin MFC Command Media, and the Engineering Procedure Manual.
• Verifying BOM accuracy, part numbers, and configuration IDs for traceability.
• Issuing formal design checking approvals or non conformance reports through the PLM tool.
• Ensuring formatting, specification compliance, completeness, and overall design soundness.
• Applying a solid understanding of manufacturing processes and quality inspection requirements to confirm producibility.
• Partnering cross functionally to release high quality design documentation with integrity.
• Generating and maintaining review board minutes and change request records.
• Recommending improvements to engineering procedures, command media processes, and Model Based Enterprise/Model Based Definition (MBD) adoption.
• Influencing stakeholders without direct authority and making risk based decisions to keep the program on track.

MUST BE A U.S. CITIZEN - This position is located at a facility that requires special access. The selected candidate must be able to obtain a secret clearance.
Basic Qualifications
• PLM (Windchill, ENOVIA, MPM) and CAD (PTC Creo, NX, SolidWorks, CATIA, 3DX, Zuken) experience
• Expertise in all areas of tolerance analysis (GD&T)
• 10 years minimum experience in Mechanical, Electro-Mechanical, Electronic-Packaging Design and/or design checking.
• Knowledge of ASME and MIL standards and applications of them.
• Must be a US Citizen with ability to obtain Security Clearance
• B.S. or higher in mechanical, electrical or Aerospace engineering (Or equivalent experience and completion of technical institution curriculum)
Desired skills
• Prior checking experience with Aerospace or Defense systems
• Certifications in GD&T or ASME standards
• PMP or Lean Six-Sigma or similar project-management certification
• Proficient in the use of Windchill, PTC Creo, Model Based Design (MBD), verification tools.
• Experience with tolerance analysis software or minimum deterministic tooling and assembly software
• Exposure and experience participating in process continuous improvement initiatives

Ability to work remotely
Part-time Remote Telework: The employee selected for this position will work part of their work schedule remotely and part of their work schedule at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. The specific weekly schedule will be discussed during the hiring process.
Work Schedule Information
Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
National Pay Statement
Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in California, Massachusetts, and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, Vermont, Washington or Washington DC is $104,500 - $184,115. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate's final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.
Benefits offered: Medical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, Short-Term Disability, Long-Term Disability, 401(k) match, Flexible Spending Accounts, EAP, Education Assistance, Parental Leave, Paid time off, and Holidays.
(Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.

Premium Pay Statement
