Job description

Job Summary:

We are looking for a talented and detail-oriented graphic specialist to join our team and create visually compelling designs for a wide range of signage products, including channel letters, cabinets, and more. The ideal candidate will possess a strong grasp of design principles, typography, and color theory, along with hands-on experience in large-format printing and signage production. In this role, you will collaborate closely with our sales and production teams to transform client ideas into impactful designs, ensuring they meet both technical specifications and brand standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Produce high-quality graphics for custom signage, including cut vinyl, printed vinyl, and more.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to understand project requirements and deliver designs that align with their vision and brand guidelines.
  • Prepare print-ready files for small-and-large-format production, ensuring accuracy and adherence to technical specifications.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously, meeting deadlines while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Prepare and optimize digital files for plotting, ensuring proper scaling, resolution, and color accuracy.
  • Apply laminates to printed graphics using precision techniques to enhance durability and ensure a professional finish. Operate and maintain laminating equipment while adhering to quality standards.
  • Manage a logo library, convert graphic files, and verify all sign details before final production
  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace, ensuring all equipment is properly calibrated, functional, and well-maintained. Perform routine maintenance and monitor supply inventory to support efficient operations.
  • Inspect jobs for accuracy before sending them to output. Ensure correct material is used for each job and output device settings are accurate
  • Provide creative input and contribute to the development of new signage concepts and solutions.

Qualifications:

  • Experience as a graphic designer, preferably in the signage or printing industry is preferred but not required.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign) and other design tools.
  • Strong computer literacy with experience using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Google for day-to-day tasks and collaboration.
  • Knowledge of large-format printing processes and file preparation.
  • Proficient in understanding and applying color systems such as Pantone, CMYK, and RGB to ensure accurate color matching and consistency across all design projects.
  • Prior experience operating and maintaining Mimaki printers is a plus but not required.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Familiarity with signage regulations is a plus.
  • Utilize basic math skills and reading comprehension to perform measurements, calculations, and adjustments for accurate sizing and alignment, while interpreting project briefs, technical specifications, and client instructions to ensure precision and quality.
  • Willing to assist in other areas of the shop as needed, including production, installation, or administrative tasks, to support overall team success and meet business demands.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and move freely throughout the warehouse facility to support production, material handling, and equipment operation.

Job Details:

This is an in-office position. Office hours are Monday – Thursday - 8:00 am to 5:00 pm and Friday 8:00 am to 12:00 pm.

This is a full-time position, but we are open to starting part-time for the right candidate. Training will be provided to ensure your success in the role.

Compensation: $17.50−$25.00 per hour, based on experience and skill level
