Job description

Senior Graphic Designer – Store Support Center

We are searching for an experienced Senior Graphic Designer for our Store Support Center located at 600 Citadel Drive, Commerce, CA, 90040.

Overview

This position reports directly to the Director of Brand and Creative and is responsible for developing culturally relevant creative concepts and design solutions across Chedraui USA banners. The Senior Graphic Designer supports integrated marketing campaigns across direct mail, print advertising, point-of-sale materials, in-store signage, digital advertising, email, social media, e‑commerce, and corporate communications.

Location & Work Requirements

This is an onsite position. Candidates must be able to report to the store support center five days a week.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Develop creative concepts and designs for marketing campaigns, store initiatives, grand openings, product launches, and customer engagement programs.
  • Identify opportunities to strengthen customer connection through culturally meaningful storytelling, imagery, typography, color and language.
  • Maintain and evolve the distinct positioning, visual identity, and customer expectations of each brand across multiple customer touchpoints.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to understand project goals, customer needs, operational requirements, timelines, and business priorities.
  • Bring a multifaceted understanding of Hispanic and Latino customers in the United States, including differences in cultural background, language use, family dynamics, food traditions, media behavior, and shopping occasions.
  • Maintain documentation related to graphic design work including filing, managing images and other related documentation.
  • Support the Creative Director or Director of Brand and Creative in concept reviews, workload planning, and quality control.
  • Work closely with other designers and provide constructive creative feedback, mentorship, and technical guidance.
Education and/or Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) from a four‑year college or university with a concentration in Graphic Design, Marketing, or Communications, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Five years of graphic design experience within an in‑house creative team, advertising agency, retail organization, consumer brand, or multicultural marketing environment.
  • Strong knowledge of typography, composition, hierarchy, color, image selection, and production design.
  • Uses artificial intelligence tools, when appropriate, to support concept development, image exploration, content adaptation, production efficiency, and creative workflow optimization while maintaining brand standards, accuracy, originality, and appropriate human oversight.
  • Strong understanding of print production and digital design requirements.
  • Demonstrated experience creating work for Hispanic or multicultural audiences in the United States.
Language Skills
  • Professional fluency in Spanish and English, including an understanding of natural, culturally appropriate Spanish‑language communication.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, auditors, and the general public.
Computer Skills
  • Must be proficient with the MS Office suite of programs. Advanced proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud, particularly Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign required.
Other Skills and Abilities
  • Experience in grocery, retail, food and beverage, consumer packaged goods, hospitality, or another high-volume consumer environment is desirable although not required.
  • Experience with email marketing, social content, e‑commerce creative, digital advertising, environmental graphics, or retail signage.
  • Working knowledge of motion graphics, video editing, photography, or art direction.
  • Experience working with project‑management platforms, digital asset management systems, or structured creative workflows.
  • Familiarity with accessibility, responsive design, and digital production best practices.
  • Experience guiding junior designers or reviewing the work of external agencies and vendors.
Compensation

The salary range for this position is $70,304.00 to $90,000.00. The actual starting pay will be determined by a number of qualifications, including experience and relevant skills.
