Job description

Purpose

To support, improve, develop and research for and with the Engineering Manager and Production department. We are looking for a candidate who is available to start as soon as possible.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Student's primary job will be to collect and process data at the manufacturing lines
  • Assist in engineering related projects.
  • Engage in continuous improvement of equipment and processes to enhance efficiency.
  • Provide documentation and reports as required. Works in a safe manner and recognizes unsafe conditions.
  • Takes appropriate action to ensure safety of themselves and others in the building.
  • Report defects, damages and malfunctions of any kind to the supervising authority. Run errands as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Required Education & Experience

Currently attending/obtained associate degree in Engineering, or a related technical field. Experience in manufacturing is a plus.

Competencies

  • Proficiency with MS Office products. Familiarity with barcode scanners and data traceability.
  • Familiarity with industrial safety requirements.
  • Capability to interpret data Ability to read technical documentation and engineering reports.
  • Ability to operate basic tools and equipment related to maintenance.
  • Time Management.
  • Computer skills- excellent spread sheet and data analysis skills
  • Engineering or pre-engineering courses
  • Student should prefer manufacturing or manufacturing work environment
  • Student will be required to present data periodically
  • Communication skills to communicate and interact with all levels of employees.
  • Knowledge in LEAN Manufacturing is a plus (one piece flow - Kanban - 5S - Kaizen - Value Stream Mapping) Power BI, Auto-Cad or similar experience is a plus
