Our work depends on Desktop Systems Administrator joining our team to provide face-to-face and remote Tier 1 and 2 incident resolution to customers with hardware, software, and application problems across NIPRNet, Coalition Networks, and SIPRNet enterprise networks for the USCENTCOM Information Technology Services (CITS) Program supporting the USCENTCOM J6 in Tampa, FL.


HOW A DESKTOP SYSTEMS TECHNICIAN WILL MAKE AN IMPACT:

  • Manages the functionality and efficiency of a group of computers running on one or more operating systems

  • Provides onsite, hands-on O&M support for client computing devices to include personal computers, thin/zero clients, laptops, Portable Electronic Devices (PEDs), and peripherals.

  • Provides end-user IT system and software maintenance for the USCENTCOM COOP.

  • Coordinates and manages Automated Data Processing Equipment (ADPE) accountability of new equipment, replacement equipment, and upgrades.

  • Tracks the disposition of equipment throughout its lifecycle (e.g., Computer Equipment Replacement Program [CERP] and Life Cycle Replacement [LCR]).

  • Processes end of life, defective, and/or damaged equipment through the Defense Reutilization Management Office (DRMO).

  • Develops procedures to facilitate management and testing of desktop load set configurations to include tracking and compiling of user issues, software conflicts, devices conflicts, and other similar tasks.

  • As needed, provide CPN and SCO support to Coalition partners, and provide expertise and advice relating to Coalition Partner Networks. Based on operational tempo 24/7 and holiday support may be required.


WHAT YOULL NEED TO SUCCEED:

  • Certification(s): Applicable DoW 8140 or DoW 8570 Certification (i.e., CompTIA Security + CE)

  • Required Experience: 1+ years of related experience

  • Required Technical Skills:

    • Performing systems planning and coordinate/connect IT systems

    • Expanding and/or modifying established systems to serve new purposes or improve workflow

    • Working within Window, Linux, and/or virtual environment

    • Establishing standards for information systems procedures

  • Required clearance: active/current TS/SCI clearance required.

  • Required Skills and Abilities:

    • Work closely with stakeholders to understand system requirements and design integrated solutions that meet functional and performance objectives.

    • Collaborate with software developers, system administrators, and other stakeholders to implement integration interfaces and APIs.

    • Conduct thorough testing and validation of integrated systems, identifying and resolving any issues or discrepancies in functionality or performance.

    • Document integration processes, including configuration settings, and troubleshooting procedures.

    • Provide technical support and assistance during the deployment and post-deployment phases, addressing any integration-related issues or concerns.

    • Stay abreast of emerging technologies and industry trends in systems integration, evaluating their potential impact on our integration strategies and recommending adoption where appropriate.

    • Participate in meetings and workshops to share knowledge and best practices related to systems integration.

    • Maintain key customer relationships to support strategic tech insertion and lifecycle replacement of IT hardware for the entire IT Enterprise.

  • Preferred Skills:

    • Bachelors Degree with a focus in computer science, engineering, or a related field of study

    • Microsoft certifications

    • ITIL 4 Foundation Certification

  • Location: Must be able to work on Customer Site at MacDill AFB in Tampa, FL

  • US Citizenship Required due to the TS/SCI clearance requirement.

Salary and Benefit Information

The likely salary range for this position is $78,200 - $105,800. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
