Job description

ABOUT THE ROLE

The IT Operations and Infrastructure Engineer is responsible for managing and maintaining the company's IT infrastructure, ensuring optimal performance, security, and reliability. This role requires a technically skilled and proactive professional with extensive experience in IT operations, network management, server administration, and cloud services. Additionally, this role will report to the Manager, Information Technology, and work closely with the IT team to support and enhance the company's technology environment, troubleshoot issues, and implement solutions to improve overall IT operations. 

Some of the key responsibilities you should expect are the following:

  • Design, deploy, and manage IT infrastructure, including servers, networks, and cloud services.
  • Monitor and maintain infrastructure performance, ensuring high availability and reliability.
  • Perform regular system updates, patches, and backups to ensure system integrity and security.
  • Manage Microsoft 365, Active Directory, and other critical IT services.
  • Implement and maintain cloud-based solutions for Business sand IT requirements.
  • Monitor and manage cloud resource utilization and costs.
  • Provide technical support for hardware, software, and network issues to end-users and internal teams.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve IT incidents and service requests in a timely manner.
  • Develop and maintain documentation for IT procedures, configurations, and infrastructure.
  • Implement and enforce IT security policies and procedures to protect company data and systems.
  • Conduct regular security audits and vulnerability assessments.
  • Lead or participate in IT infrastructure projects, ensuring timely and within-budget delivery.
  • Coordinate with other departments and stakeholders to understand and fulfill IT requirements.

ABOUT YOU

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • 3-5 years of experience in IT infrastructure and operations.
  • Hands-on experience with cloud technologies, servers, network, and endpoints/devices management.
  • Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., Azure, GCP) is required.
  • Proficiency in operating systems (Windows, Linux).
  • Experience with ITSM applications (e.g., Jira, ServiceNow).
  • Experience with virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V).
  • Experience with network technologies (e.g., Fortinet).
  • Scripting skills (e.g., PowerShell, Python).
  • Relevant certifications such as CompTIA Network+, CompTIA Security+, or Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator are preferred.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to lift and transport moderately heavy objects, such as computers and peripherals.
