Be the first smile customers see at St. Louis Composting! As our Retail Site Coordinator, you will be the friendly face that greets every customer, whether they are dropping off ingredients for compost and mulch (leaves, grass and trees) or picking up our finished products (mulch and top soil).
We're looking for personable individuals who enjoy:
  • Managing traffic in/out of the site
  • Educating customers - in person and on the phone - about our products
  • Keeping supplies stocked
  • Maintaining a clean, organized environment

This position is especially great because it offers the opportunity to travel to a variety of locations as a floater! When you're not stationed at our Florissant location, you'll have the chance to fill in at our other locations in Valley Park, Pacific, Arnold, St. Louis City, Belleville or Troy, IL. This variety ensures you'll experience different environments and meet diverse customers, keeping your workday exciting and dynamic.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with the Retail Team, Dispatch Team and Site Manager to ensure smooth daily operations and completion of retail tasks.
  • Take orders through our point-of-service (POS) system, both in person and over the phone for pick-ups, drop-offs and deliveries.
  • Guide and assist customers during drop-off and pick-up, providing clear directions and support.
  • Address customer requests and complaints professionally, ensuring a positive experience.
  • Educate customers about our products, helping them choose the best options for their projects.

Skills and Experience:
  • Maintain a neat and well-groomed appearance.
  • Strong team player with excellent teamwork skills.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a high-volume, fast-paced environment while also seeking ways to stay productive during quieter periods.
  • Proficient in completing retail transactions using the POS and NetSuite.

As an important part of our hiring process, our candidates must go through a background check, in order to comply with the Department of Transportation requirements. Additionally, we do extensive drug testing including urine, breath alcohol, and invasive hair follicle testing.
