Join the team at YMCA Camp Collins as a part-time OR full-time Kitchen Assistant! 


This is your chance to share your experience, talents, and passion for food with our campers, staff, families, and retreat guests. Our meal service is a vital part of our camper and guest experience, and we need you to lead this team. 


YMCA Camp Collins is nestled in the trees in Gresham, OR along the banks of the beautiful Sandy River.

What would you be doing?

  • Help prepare healthy and appealing meals in a timely manner
  • Perform kitchen cleaning duties such as operation of the dishwasher, sweeping, mopping, and sanitizing surfaces.
  • Communicate effectively with other members of the food services team. 
  • Operate food preparation utensils, such as knives and peelers, requiring excellent hand/eye coordination.
  • Operate industrial food preparation equipment requiring excellent hand/eye coordination, ability to comprehend operation safety instructions.
  • Practices and promotes cleanliness, proper food handling, as well as proper recycling/composting & trash disposal
  • This position may have some weekend responsibilities. 
  • Minimum of 3-day work week, 24+ hours per week, scheduled with supervisor

Requirements

What do you need to qualify?

  • Must pass YMCA background check.
  • Must be at least 16 years of age.
  • Participate in all assigned, job related trainings.
  • CPR/First Aid and Food Handlers certifications or ability to acquire within 30 days of employment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior work experience with food service.
  • Reliable transportation to work location.
