Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Staff Accountant to support our financial operations, reporting, and compliance across our growing business. This role is essential in ensuring accurate financial records, assisting with budgeting and audits, and supporting the accounting needs of our composting and organic material processing operations.
The ideal candidate will have experience in general ledger accounting, month-end close processes, reconciliations, and familiarity with accounting software. This position requires strong analytical skills, a high level of accuracy, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively with the finance team.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist in the preparation of financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
  • Maintain and update accounting records and files.
  • Reconcile bank statements and general ledger accounts.
  • Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
  • Perform data entry and maintain accurate records of financial transactions.
  • Assist in the preparation of sales tax returns and ensure compliance with relevant regulations.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.
  • Participate in audits and assist with audit preparations.
  • Provide administrative support as needed within the accounting department

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field. (Required)
