Job description

Spearman High School is in search of a Composite Science teacher for the 2026-2027 school year. The position will pay an additional $3,000 for Master degree. District pays $466 per month towards applicants health insurance.
Primary Purpose:
Teaches and facilitates learning and maintains academic progress, discipline and records for students at the secondary level. Works with parents and students to provide and impement classroom education to meet the needs of all students.
Qualifications:
Education/Certification:
Bachelor's Degree;
Valid Texas Teacher Certification;
Composite Science certified
Special Knowledge/Skills:
Knowledge of applicable federal and state laws regarding education and students
Knowledge of current teaching methods and educational pedagogy
Ability and patience to work interactively with students
Skill in organization, time management, communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to deliver teaching instruction in accordance with improved curriculum and standards
Excellent skills in verbal and written communication
Ability to understand the individual needs of each student
Experience:
Secondary teaching experience, preferred
Responsibilities & Duties:
  • Instruct through lectures, discussions and demonstrations
  • Establish clear objectives for all lessons, units and projects, and communicate those objectives to students
  • Collaborate and communicate with staff to meet the educational needs of students
  • Create, administer and grade tests to evaluate student progress
  • Establish and enforce rules and procedures which help maintain order in the classroom
  • Observe, evaluate and prepare reports on student progress
  • Participate in faculty and professional meetings, conferences, workshops, and staff development
  • Observes, enforces and is directed by the policies, rules and regulations adopted by the district
