Job description

Finvari is a fast-growing SaaS startup transforming the way construction companies handle payments. Our mission is to eliminate manual, repetitive payment tasks, empowering construction leaders to focus on building the infrastructure of tomorrow. From field employees to the C-Suite, our customer-centric software streamlines processes, improves efficiency, and drives innovation across the industry.
We're a close-knit, experienced team with a track record of building and scaling successful software companies-some of which have even gone public. At Finvari, innovation, creativity, and customer focus are at the heart of what we do. We're looking for team members who share our passion for problem-solving and want to make a direct impact. Our culture is collaborative, autonomous, and customer-obsessed.
As Compliance Manager, you will report to the Chief Financial Officer and be a core member of our Compliance function, driving operational initiatives with both internal stakeholders and external financial partners. This role will be heavily focused on BSA/AML and sanctions compliance while requiring a generalist mindset across other regulatory domains.
You'll partner closely with teams across finance, operations, as well as with our external financial partners, card networks, and regulatory agencies, to ensure our compliance program meets the highest standards. You'll also work closely with our engineering teams to derive solutions to meet our compliance needs as we scale. The ideal candidate is a self-starter who thrives in fast-paced environments, is highly detail-oriented, and brings both analytical skills and tech fluency to solving complex compliance challenges.
This is an opportunity to help shape and scale a best-in-class compliance program at a high-growth fintech. You'll gain hands-on experience across card program oversight, regulatory reporting, and partner engagement - making an impact on the company, our customers, and the industry.
This is a hybrid role that allows for remote work flexibility. Once a week, we get together for in-person team collaboration and a team lunch in our Seattle office.
Key Responsibilities
  • Operational Compliance: Own BSA/AML, sanctions, KYC/KYB, regulatory reporting, and compliance testing programs, collaborating with internal and external stakeholders as needed. Spearhead process for recurring and ad hoc audits to ensure smooth, thorough, accurate, and on time completion - as well as own and execute post-audit remediation, encompassing necessary process, reporting, and system changes. Assist in review, implementation, and remediation associated with SOC2 controls and other SOC requirements as needed.
  • Issuing Bank Liaison: Serve as the daily primary point of contact and operational liaison for our external issuing bank partner on compliance-related matters.
  • Documentation & SOPs: Create, maintain, and continuously improve compliance documentation, policies, and SOPs.
  • Training: Partner with BSA Officer to develop internal compliance training. Track internal compliance training, develop assessments, and ensure team readiness on compliance obligations.
  • Process Development: Partner with operations and engineering teams to update internal tools and workflows to meet evolving regulatory and partner requirements.
  • Cross-functional Liaison: Serve as a bridge between compliance, business, and technical teams to ensure seamless integration of compliance processes into day to day operations. Partner with Senior Operations Manager to prioritize development roadmap for improvements to the Onboarding tool as well as automation of on-going capture of required customer information (i.e. beneficial ownership and persons with control).
  • Unusual Activity & Fraud Case Management: Research, prepare responses, and ensure all steps necessary to report unusual activities and fraud related activities to proper banking partners, network partners, and other authorities as necessary. Liaise directly with customer leadership when necessary to address and resolve issues arising from non-standard charges or merchants identified in transaction reporting, including escalation and follow-up related to MasterCoverage claims.
Qualifications
  • 5-7 years of experience with compliance, risk, or regulatory. Familiarity with commercial card programs and fintech are strongly preferred.
Deep knowledge of BSA/AML, KYC/KYB, OFAC, sanctions, suspicious activity reporting, and broader regulatory frameworks.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills; able to manage multiple priorities with precision.
  • Data-fluent and tech-savvy, comfortable leveraging tools and systems to identify compliance risks and optimize workflows.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; capable of drafting clear compliance documentation, reports, and training materials, and interfacing with a wide range of stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to partner effectively across compliance, operations, engineering, and external partners.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or related field.
  • CAMS, CRCM, or other compliance certifications preferred.

Benefits include:
  • 100% premium coverage for employee health insurance premiums and partial coverage for dependents.
  • Health Savings Account with a company contribution
  • Flexible Spending Account Options: Health Care and Dependent Care
  • Dental, Vision, and Life Insurance
  • 11 paid company holidays plus generous Paid Time Off (PTO) policy
  • Plus stock options so that you can participate in the company's success!
