POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES 

The Ohio Department of Veterans Services (ODVS) is seeking a detail-oriented, analytical professional to lead our compliance auditing and monitoring program. This is an exciting opportunity to play a vital role in ensuring our agency operates with integrity, transparency, and accountability while supporting the mission of serving Ohio's veterans.

As the Compliance Program Administrator, you will serve as the agency's primary administrator for compliance auditing and monitoring activities. Working under the direction of the Chief Compliance Officer, you will help identify compliance risks, evaluate adherence to federal and state regulations, agency policies, and industry standards, and partner with leaders across the organization to strengthen operational performance.

        Lead the Compliance Auditing & Monitoring Program by developing, implementing, and maintaining systems that assess organizational compliance with federal and state regulations, agency policies, and industry standards.

        Identify and Mitigate Compliance Risks through audits, data analysis, operational monitoring, and collaboration with agency leadership to evaluate performance, identify areas of concern, and recommend corrective actions.

        Conduct Compliance Reviews and Investigations by performing fact-finding activities, reviewing documentation, evaluating reported concerns, validating corrective action plans, and determining the need for additional review or escalation.

        Analyze, Report, and Track Compliance Activities by preparing clear audit reports, maintaining compliance records and monitoring systems, documenting findings, and measuring the effectiveness of remediation efforts.

        Promote Continuous Improvement and Compliance Awareness by partnering with subject matter experts, identifying training opportunities, supporting regulatory surveys, and recommending strategies that strengthen the agency's overall compliance program.

Preferred Qualifications 

  • Demonstrated experience in compliance auditing and monitoring, ideally within healthcare, longterm care, or similarly regulated environments.
  • Strong organizational abilities, including managing multiple priorities, maintaining thorough documentation, and developing efficient workflows.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with experience preparing reports, summarizing findings, and presenting information to leadership.
  • Proven ability to independently develop, refine, or expand compliance auditing and monitoring activities, including creating clear procedures and tracking mechanisms.
  • Strong problemsolving skills, including evaluating complex situations, reviewing evidence, making determinations, and recommending corrective actions.
  • Working knowledge of clinical operations or the nursing home environment, such as CMS requirements, survey processes, clinical workflows, or longterm care regulatory standards.

Minimum Qualifications

4 yrs. trg. or 4 yrs. exp. in business administration management science or public administration. 
-Or completion of undergraduate core program in business administration, management science or public administration; 2 yrs. trg. or 2 yrs. exp. in supervisory, administrative &/or managerial position. 
-Or completion of undergraduate core program in academic field commensurate with program area to be assigned per approved Position Description on file; 2 yrs. trg. or 2 yrs. exp. in supervisory, administrative &/or managerial position or staff position involving planning, research &/or policy/procedure development. 
-Or 1 yr. exp. as Program Administrator 1, 63122. 
-Or equivalent of Minimum Class Qualifications For Employment noted above
