Role Purpose:

The Compliance Manager is responsible for leading and overseeing all First Line Compliance Operations activities across Moneycorp's North American business. This role combines hands-on operational delivery with people leadership, ensuring the effective execution of customer onboarding, KYC lifecycle management, customer due diligence (CDD), enhanced due diligence (EDD), sanctions screening, and periodic review activities. We are looking for someone with a financial institution background and relevant compliance experience.

In this role, you will maintain a strong operational risk and control environment, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and banking partner obligations while supporting business growth and delivering an excellent client experience. Acting as a key liaison across Compliance, Operations, Sales, Risk, Legal, Banking Partners, and Executive Management, the Compliance Operations Manager will drive operational excellence, continuous improvement, and team performance.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Lead, coach, develop, and manage the Compliance Operations team, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and compliance excellence.
  • Remain actively involved in day-to-day compliance operations while balancing leadership responsibilities.
  • Oversee end-to-end onboarding activities for corporate and private clients, ensuring high-quality KYC analysis and customer due diligence.
  • Manage customer lifecycle reviews, KYC refreshes, and periodic review programs in line with customer risk ratings and regulatory requirements.
  • Ensure adherence to AML, sanctions, and compliance policies, procedures, and control frameworks across all operational activities.
  • Act as an escalation point for complex, high-risk, or sensitive customer cases.
  • Monitor onboarding pipelines, review backlogs, service levels, productivity metrics, and operational performance indicators.
  • Conduct quality assurance reviews and support the maintenance of a robust first-line control environment.
  • Prepare management information, operational dashboards, and risk reporting for senior leadership.
  • Drive process improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, strengthen controls, and improve client experience.
  • Support regulatory examinations, internal audits, and responses to banking partner requirements.
  • Partner closely with stakeholders across Compliance, Operations, Risk, Legal, Sales, and Executive Management to ensure effective governance and operational delivery.
  • Perform additional duties and projects as required to support the growth and success of the business.

What We're Looking For:

Essential Knowledge, Skills & Experience:

  • 5+ years' experience within financial services.
  • 4+ years' experience in Compliance Operations, AML/KYC, Financial Crime Compliance, Operational Risk, or a related field.
  • 2+ years' experience managing or leading teams.
  • Strong working knowledge of AML/KYC regulations, BSA/AML frameworks, sanctions requirements, customer due diligence, and compliance controls.
  • Experience managing customer onboarding, KYC reviews, periodic reviews, and customer lifecycle management processes.
  • Proven ability to manage operational workloads while maintaining a high standard of quality and compliance.
  • Experience monitoring KPIs, SLAs, productivity metrics, and operational reporting.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize effectively across multiple responsibilities.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and adapt to changing business needs in a dynamic environment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Experience using KYC, screening, and compliance monitoring platforms.

Desirable Knowledge, Skills & Experience:

  • Experience within payments, foreign exchange, fintech, banking, or regulated financial institutions.
  • Knowledge of operational risk management frameworks and governance processes.
  • Experience driving process improvement, workflow optimization, or technology-enabled transformation initiatives.
  • Exposure to regulatory examinations, audits, and banking partner oversight activities.
  • Experience creating operational dashboards and management reporting for senior stakeholders.

Education / Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience required.

Languages:

  • Fluent English, both written and verbal.

What We Can Offer You:

  • This role offers a salary range between$85.000 to$90,000per annum and a comprehensive benefits package

  • Hours: 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday between 8.30am - 5.00pm

  • This is a hybrid role requiring 3 days per week in the office
