Position Summary 

Flynn Group is seeking a highly proactive, detail-oriented Compliance Operations Specialist (Legal and HR) to support the Compliance team. This highly cross-functional role is responsible for coordinating and executing compliance programs, supporting audits, investigations, and regulatory responses, and driving operational excellence across Legal, HR, Payroll, and Safety functions.  


This role is critical to ensuring compliant operations at scale across thousands of employees and locations nationwide with diverse regulatory requirements. You will help translate complex legal and regulatory requirements into practical, day-to-day solutions that protect the business, support our teams, and enable operational success.  


The ideal candidate has experience in compliance, legal operations, HR compliance, risk management, or other regulated environments (e.g., multi-unit operations, retail, restaurant, healthcare, or similar industries), and enjoys working in a fast-paced, execution-oriented environment. 

Key Responsibilities 

1. Compliance Audits & Agency Support 

  • Data gathering, document collection, and response coordination 
  • Audit tracking and status reporting 
  • Drafting initial responses for Legal Department review  

2. Safety Compliance & OSHA Support 

  • Support OSHA investigations and workplace safety compliance efforts (no prior OSHA experience required; training will be provided), including:  
  • Fact gathering and document collection 
  • Draft initial responses to OSHA inquiries, complaints, inspections, and agency requests for review by the Safety Manager and/or Legal Department 
  • Support development of safety-related policies, training materials, and compliance resources 

3. Legal Research & Policy Support 

  • Conduct research on federal, state, and local employment and workplace safety laws 
  • Support policy development, updates, implementation, and version control 

4. Compliance Operations & Program Management 

  • Own project management for compliance initiatives, including planning, tracking, execution, and reporting 
  • Maintain and monitor compliance trackers, dashboards, and deadlines to support effective program management  
  • Coordinate cross-functional stakeholders and drive execution and follow-through across multiple workstreams 

5. Meeting Planning & Governance 

  • Lead coordination and execution of monthly and annual compliance meetings 
  • Drive follow-through and accountability across teams 

6. Data Analysis & Reporting 

  • Prepare and analyze compliance reports, metrics, and dashboards for leadership 
  • Identify trends, recurring issues, areas of risk, and support the development of preventative and corrective strategies 
  • Develop, maintain, and optimize tracking tools and reporting systems, including Excel, Smartsheet, Workday, or similar platforms 

7. Lead or Support Special Projects and Cross Functional Initiatives as Needed 

Qualifications 

This role is ideal for an early- to mid-career professional seeking to grow in compliance, legal operations, or HR compliance.  

Required Qualifications 

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience  
  • 2-5 years of experience in compliance, legal operations, HR compliance, risk management, or a regulatory environment 
  • Experience supporting audits, investigations, agency responses, or compliance-related projects 
  • Strong organizational and project management skills 
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills 
  • Strong proficiency in Excel and experience with data tracking, reporting, and analysis 
  • Demonstrated curiosity, initiative, and a love for learning and problem solving 

Preferred Qualifications 

  • Experience with:  
  • Employment law and/or wage and hour compliance 
  • Conducting workplace investigations 
  • Compliance audits, regulatory inquiries, or agency responses 
  • Ability to create effective visual presentations and materials for a broad audience 
  • Experience using compliance, HRIS, case management, or project management systems
