Position Summaryย 

Flynn Group is seeking a highly proactive, detail-oriented Compliance Operations Specialist (Legal and HR) to support the Compliance team. This highly cross-functional role is responsible for coordinating and executing compliance programs, supporting audits, investigations, and regulatory responses, and driving operational excellence across Legal, HR, Payroll, and Safety functions.ย ย 


This role is critical to ensuring compliant operations at scale across thousands of employees and locations nationwide with diverse regulatory requirements. You will help translate complex legal and regulatory requirements into practical, day-to-day solutions that protect the business, support our teams, and enable operational success.ย ย 


The ideal candidate has experience in compliance, legal operations, HR compliance, risk management, or other regulated environments (e.g., multi-unit operations, retail, restaurant, healthcare, or similar industries), and enjoys working in a fast-paced, execution-oriented environment.ย 

Key Responsibilitiesย 

1. Compliance Audits & Agency Supportย 

  • Data gathering, document collection, and response coordinationย 
  • Audit tracking and status reportingย 
  • Drafting initial responses for Legal Department reviewย ย 

2. Safety Compliance & OSHA Supportย 

  • Support OSHA investigations and workplace safety compliance efforts (no prior OSHA experience required; training will be provided), including:ย ย 
  • Fact gathering and document collectionย 
  • Draft initial responses to OSHA inquiries, complaints, inspections, and agency requests for review by the Safety Manager and/or Legal Departmentย 
  • Support development of safety-related policies, training materials, and compliance resourcesย 

3. Legal Research & Policy Supportย 

  • Conduct research on federal, state, and local employment and workplace safety lawsย 
  • Support policy development, updates, implementation, and version controlย 

4. Compliance Operations & Program Managementย 

  • Own project management for compliance initiatives, including planning, tracking, execution, and reportingย 
  • Maintain and monitor compliance trackers, dashboards, and deadlines to support effective program managementย ย 
  • Coordinate cross-functional stakeholders and drive execution and follow-through across multiple workstreamsย 

5. Meeting Planning & Governanceย 

  • Lead coordination and execution of monthly and annual compliance meetingsย 
  • Drive follow-through and accountability across teamsย 

6. Data Analysis & Reportingย 

  • Prepare and analyze compliance reports, metrics, and dashboards for leadershipย 
  • Identify trends, recurring issues, areas of risk, and support the development of preventative and corrective strategiesย 
  • Develop, maintain, and optimize tracking tools and reporting systems, including Excel, Smartsheet, Workday, or similar platformsย 

7. Lead or Support Special Projects and Cross Functional Initiatives as Neededย

Required Qualificationsย 

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and relevant experienceย ย 
  • 2-5 years of experience in compliance, legal operations, HR compliance, risk management, or a regulatory environmentย 
  • Experience supporting audits, investigations, agency responses, or compliance-related projectsย 
  • Strong organizational and project management skillsย 
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skillsย 
  • Strong proficiency in Excel and experience with data tracking, reporting, and analysisย 
  • Demonstrated curiosity, initiative, and a love for learning and problem solvingย 

Preferred Qualificationsย 

  • Experience with:ย ย 
  • Employment law and/or wage and hour complianceย 
  • Conducting workplace investigationsย 
  • Compliance audits, regulatory inquiries, or agency responsesย 
  • Ability to create effective visual presentations and materials for a broad audienceย 
  • Experience using compliance, HRIS, case management, or project management systemsย
