TheCompletions Engineerwill be responsible for working directly with the completions and subsurface team on the completion design and the technical execution of completion projects. This role will be responsible for completing assignments independently and under general supervision including developing completion design plans, preparing project timelines, cost estimates and procedures, reviewing reports and records for accuracy, tracking project costs, and participating in post project analysis. This role will require leadership, technical and communication skills to interface with both field and office-based staff and will also need to be self-motivated, team oriented, and results focused.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare project timelines, cost estimates and procedures, review reports and records for accuracy, track project costs, verify invoices and may participate in post project analysis\

  • Prepares AFE proposals and detailed procedures for completions operations

  • Perform frac modeling & post treatment analysis

  • Requires the coordination of many contractors - this must be optimized to maximize capital efficiency and to minimize time between well spud and date of first production.

  • Assume project management responsibilities: identify, recommend, and implement better work alternatives and business processes

  • Assist in development and execution of programs for non-critical operations and possibly some critical operations

  • Understand and provide oversight to ensure compliance with company HSE policies

  • Prepare field reviews, wellbore schematics, cost estimates and procedures for downhole and surface operations; analysis of production and pressure data; basic understanding of reservoir engineering and economic evaluations

  • Works with the completions team to negotiate vendor pricing for capital completions program - requires obtaining and analyzing contractor bids.

  • Provide technical input and support in the development and administration of plans, policies and programs to optimize goals and assets

  • Compile, review, and analyze cost and performance data associated with completions activities to optimize completions operations and cost reduction

  • Conduct self-directed preliminary research to determine optimum completions design and operations parameters based on offset data and other operator information

  • Provide innovative technical support to completions team to address specific issues which arise during planning and during operations phases

  • Generate cost estimates and performs risk analysis for horizontal and vertical completions operations

  • Complete routine and moderately complex completions engineering assignments independently

  • Work with the entire completions team, Completions Superintendent Well-site Supervisors and contractors to execute well plans in the safest and most cost-effective manner

  • Provide leadership in promoting a safe and environmentally responsible completion operation

  • Assure all operations are conducted according to respective regulatory requirements

  • Generate End of Well reports

  • Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, and establishing personal networks.

Qualifications:

  • Education:Bachelor's degree in engineering, Petroleum Engineering a plus

  • Experience:5+ years of industry experience in production, operations, completions, and/or reservoir engineering with 3+ years of onshore completions experience working in a multi-discipline team environment

  • Skills:Proficiency in reliability and maintenance software, strong problem-solving abilities, and excellent communication skills.

Key Competencies:

  • Knowledge of general completion practices including, but not limited to, hydraulic fracturing, tubing design, materials selection, surface and subsurface completion equipment selection, completion fluids, and perforating systems

  • Familiar with various artificial lift methods such as gas lift, pumping units, jet pumps, etc.

  • Knowledge in horizontal and multi-lateral well bore design and well test equipment selection

  • A proven record of implementing innovative and practical completion solutions to maximize productivity and add value while minimizing cost

  • Previous experience with performance tracking and benchmarking

  • Knowledge of economic evaluation, project management and risk analysis
