What is competitive cheerleading?

Competitive cheerleading is a sport where teams perform choreographed routines that include elements of tumbling, stunting, jumps, and dance. These routines are judged based on difficulty, execution, creativity, and synchronization at local, regional, national, or international competitions. Unlike traditional cheerleading, which focuses on supporting athletic teams, competitive cheerleading is centered around the competition itself. Participants train intensively to develop strength, flexibility, and teamwork. The sport demands athleticism, precision, and strong communication among teammates.
