Job description

EHSS Manager - USA
Regional US Environment, Health, Safety & Security (EHSS) Manager
Location: Brunswick/Wiscasset, Maine (supporting Brunswick, Wiscasset, ME and Anderson Distribution Center, SC)
Lead Safety. Drive Compliance. Shape Culture.
At Mölnlycke, protecting people is just as important as advancing healthcare. We're looking for a highly visible and influential EHSS leader to drive environmental, health, safety, and security excellence across our US manufacturing operations.
This is more than a compliance role. You'll serve as a trusted advisor to site leadership, champion a proactive safety culture, and lead initiatives that reduce risk, improve operational performance, and strengthen EHSS management systems. You'll have the opportunity to influence both strategic direction and day-to-day operations while partnering with stakeholders across manufacturing, engineering, quality, HR, and global EHSS teams.
If you're passionate about building world-class safety cultures, leading continuous improvement, and making a meaningful impact within a global healthcare organization, we'd love to hear from you.
What You'll Do:
  • Lead environmental, health, safety, and security programs across US manufacturing operations.
  • Provide EHSS leadership and support for facilities in Brunswick and Wiscasset, Maine, and Anderson, South Carolina.
  • Drive continuous improvement of EHSS management systems while ensuring compliance with OSHA, EPA, state, and local regulations.
  • Maintain and strengthen ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 management systems.
  • Serve as the regional leader and local champion for EHSS initiatives, culture, and performance.
  • Develop, track, and report EHSS metrics, leading indicators, and performance improvement plans.
  • Lead incident investigations, root cause analyses, and corrective action implementation.
  • Conduct risk assessments and ensure effective hazard identification and mitigation practices.
  • Manage EHSS audits, inspections, and interactions with regulatory agencies.
  • Lead EHSS training programs and ensure regulatory training requirements are met.
  • Partner with site leadership teams to embed accountability and ownership for EHSS performance.
  • Manage workers' compensation programs and support return-to-work initiatives.
  • Directly manage the EHSS Specialist and support capability development within the EHSS function.
  • Drive regional and global EHSS improvement projects and share best practices across sites.

What You'll Bring:
Required Qualifications
  • 5+ years of EHSS leadership experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong expertise in OSHA regulations, compliance management, and regulatory inspections.
  • Experience implementing, maintaining, and improving ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 management systems.
  • Proven success conducting incident investigations and driving sustainable corrective actions.
  • Experience leading EHSS programs, audits, inspections, and risk assessments.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence leaders and drive culture change across an organization.
  • Strong communication, stakeholder management, and coaching skills.
  • Ability to work effectively across multiple sites and priorities.
  • Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or related field preferred.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in medical device, pharmaceutical, biotechnology, healthcare, or other regulated manufacturing industries.
  • ISO 14001 and/or ISO 45001 Lead Auditor certification.
  • Environmental permitting and compliance experience.
  • Experience implementing behavioral-based safety programs.
  • Multi-site manufacturing responsibility.
  • Workers' compensation and return-to-work program experience.
  • Global EHSS program exposure.

Why This Opportunity Stands Out
  • Opportunity to lead EHSS strategy and execution across multiple US manufacturing locations.
  • High visibility role with direct influence on site leadership and operational decision-making.
  • Blend of strategic leadership and hands-on operational impact.
  • Ability to shape culture, improve safety performance, and strengthen compliance across the region.
  • Exposure to global EHSS programs, governance structures, and best practices.
  • Work for a purpose-driven healthcare company where your contributions directly support patient outcomes and employee well-being.
  • Significant autonomy to identify opportunities, implement improvements, and drive meaningful change.
